Another excellent site in Luxembourg to witness. The ruins of Pettingen are simple yet impactfully scenic (not ostentatious like some of the neighbouring countries' sites are).. Located right in the middle of the town with some parking directly outside the entrance. Parking and entry are both free. There's a medieval catapult on display and even a (modern) children's playground inside the precinct (good to keep young children entertained if they're disinterested in old ruins). Schöne Ruine, ideal für eine kurze Pause Small, free remains with a playground now in the former moat. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area or checking the Lux castles off your list.
