The mine is overwhelming. Educational and beautiful. Fantastic museum on the history of slate mining. The experience of the underground self guided tour is beyond belief. We were by the enormity if the mining that was undertaken. One of the best we have seen. The staff Phillip and Doborah were excellent and well informed and answered all our questions. A must see... We realy enjoyed our Guided tour. Any weather activity and the kids loved it. Great to learn more about the slate industry in Luxembourg. The mine itself is amazing and it was a real and special experience. Villmools Merci fir s'gudd Erfarung 🙏 Visually stunning underground, above ground original buildings with a lot of original equipment. One of the top mines in Europe WOW! That's probably the most interesting and breathtaking place to see in Luxembourg. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for all the family. Only thing to be aware of is there are a lot of steps (both up and down the mine) but it was fascinating and well worth a visit. The Johanna underground mine tour was fabulous and a great way to experience mining over the centuries. The lighting used as a form of exhibition is brilliant. You get a good sense of the conditions of miners and the sheer volume of slate required and how it is moved around. Definitely will want sturdy non slip shoes and a light jacket, there are lots of water drips. Also worth remembering 300 plus stairs down then up. Highly recommend this for anyone or families looking for something different. A beautiful place with passionate employees. We were here with our Kids and spent about 2.5 hrs. It has a lot of potential to be a serious attraction if they just did a little better marketing. I hope this review helps. The prize is very low, the terain is freely accessible for the mine and little train you pay a small amount. Cool to go 41 metres below ground level and experience the dark and moist tunnels. Don't expect something like a cave visit, but it is really interesting to see what the mine workers went through. great guided tour , extremely interesting and educative , no question remained unanswered, well organized by a great motivated team Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
