A very cosy country pub with excellent food. The staff are attentive and friendly. Dogs are not allowed inside, however there is a sitting area outside that can accommodate dog owners. There is free parking as well. I would not hesitate to recommend it!! Lovely little local pub, very friendly welcoming atmosphere. Great food - we had the pan fried duck and steak and Guinness pie. Delicious food 😋 Nice choice of Ciders, ales, largers, spirits & yummy Bumbu Rum This is the best Sunday roast that we have ever tasted in Bristol by a mile and they're are some great pubs here. The presentation of the food, the friendly staff and perfectly cooked beef was all dressed with the most stunning red wine gravy and side vegetables with cauliflower cheese as well. This will now be our local pub for Sunday lunch. I cannot recommend this place enough it's incredible. I’ve been a few times with no issues and would have recommended this pub. I took my family there recently with my four year old child… who for once was being very well behaved. Unfortunately after ordering our food. They asked us to move into a box room with only one table in there. The lady was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable almost to the point we wanted to leave. After talking to other friends with children they have had similar experiences. If you don’t want children in your pub you should probably say before taking the money First time at this pub and loved it. The scampi and chips was excellent and the Doombar bitter was beautifully kept. My dining companions all enjoyed their meals too. We all felt the prices were very reasonable. Service was quick and the food arrived hot and as described. I would heartily recommend this pub. Some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. When it came back, it was boiling hot in some places, and warm in others. They didn't even replace the garlic bread. I felt it was a 'customary' 2nd check as she said ill tell the chef. I understand things go wrong but how it is dealt with is key and can change your perception. I've had better service at a greene king. This used to be a favourite pub that I have recommended to many others but something has clearly changed. If I had not already paid for the meal, I would have walked out. So disappointing. Fish and chips truly dreadful. Not cod or haddock and undercooked. Never again.
