A modern watering hole, which was something of a surprise in an otherwise lovely historic village. Enjoyed a much-needed cold drink on one day, then a tasty evening meal the next. I loved the trout gravlax starter, that came with beetroot icecream and a (very salty) carrot purée. The main dish was delicious too with fresh, local ingredients, but a tad salty for my taste. The waiting staff was excellent, accommodating and very nice. Perfect food for a good price. They also sell very good local beer! Bière de Thierache. Nous avons passé un agréable moment. Service was good, the food however lacked in variation and flavour. My friend ordered the Flamiche ou Maroilles and it was literally a thick heavy bread, size of half a pizza, with cheese slapped on. And that was her main... The burgers were bland and the Poulet gratiné au Maroilles was chicken with cheese, nothing else. The vegetables I ordered as a side, were grated carrots and courgette heated up in a microwave or something. No flavour. So we would not recommend this restaurant... If u are hungry, stay away please! Absolutely fantastic could not have been better Service was terrible. Food so so. Very small portions.
