One of the best meals we've had in a long time. Myself and my fiance were visiting friends in Wimborne and it was also their first time trying this restaurant as it was recently recommended to them by their employer. The meat platter to start was delicious and we all got a plate with gorgeous bread with oil and balsamic. I got the cod for mains and it was beautifully cooked. The men got sirloin and they described it as sensational. The desserts were also exceptional. To top it off the wine was and the were just the friendliest and the most mannerly I've come across. Nine of us went to the Pig for a family pre Christmas lunch yesterday (Saturday). We had pre-ordered which made things so much easier and slick; and every dish which was produced was absolutely delicious. The starters were generous….I had the brisket of beef; so, so good! Mr Husband had the trout which was carpaccio with wasabi and in a beetroot kvass. My son in law had fried Brie along with several others and those babies were melt in the mouth yum. Main courses; the was to die for. Most of us had that one! Duck was also excellent. And whilst I don’t always have pudding, the special was a Christmas themed bread pudding and it was fabulous. Again; a very generous portion; with a lovely crunch to the outside and buttery and sweet on the inside. All the other desserts looked equally wonderful. The were charming and so tolerant of all the demands of a big group of (mostly older!) people. Especially Jamie. Thank you Wimborne Pig! We will be back for sure. Had a meal here tonight. One of the best tasting meals I have had out in a long long time. Presentation was on point, as was the list of local ingredients. Opted for the mushroom starter and main. Excellent The menu options and food was fantastic. They were extremely helpful with our intolerances and allergies. The chef is also gluten free so had lots of options! Incredible three course dinner, the food was locally sourced, seasonal and beautifully cooked with great portion sizes. All the were efficient and attentive all evening and nothing was a problem. I took my brother and father for a meal at the Wimborne Pig on a Friday evening (pre-Christmas). We all ordered the of pork, which was fantastic. The winter vegetable soup was delicious and the desserts were also great, especially the Winter Crumble. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food served. We will return in the summer. We booked a at the Wimborne Pig for our wedding anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful experience! We came with our 11-month old baby and the were absolutely brilliant and very helpful around her. The food was superb! The most delicious I've ever had- cooked to perfection, full of flavour and garnished with blueberry sauce. My husband had the beef burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both have allergies and I'm currently on a very restrictive gluten, dairy and egg free one. This wasn't an issue at all- the meal was adapted to cater for it. Overall a five star experience and a must try when in Wimborne! WOW! New Years Eve at the Pig- Great value for money. A beautiful venue, lovely friendly staff, brilliant pianist. The food was absolutely gorgeous and locally sourced. My partner is coeliac which was very well catered for and he did not miss out on anything! The owners are hands on and very attentive, along with their brilliant team. We could not have asked for a better evening. The best place to visit in wimborne and surrounding areas. Would 100% recommend and will be returning. I had the most fantastic experience at Janey and Gerry’s new restaurant – what a spot! The food is absolutely top-tier — packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with real care and passion. The was just as impressive. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and on point from start to finish. You can feel how well run the place is — and credit to the kitchen team too, they were seriously on it. Everything came out perfectly timed and fresh. Today I had the privilege to bring my family to have dinner at The Wimborne Pig. I can only say that everything was amazing. The different dishes we had were cooked to perfection with an presentation and rich in flavour. The customer provided was exceptional, and Gerry and Janey proved they were knowledgeable about the delicious and food they serve. It was a beautiful experience and I recommend a visit to all the nice and quality food lovers like myself. Thank you very much for the evening. Wow! Was not expecting that. Blown away by the food, the ambiance was nice and the were attentive and considerate. 100% recommend! I had the wild mushrooms starter, and cheesecake. The potato terrine was to die for. This was our first time and we will be back regularly! Thank you. Excellent food! Might go as far as saying best roast ever, and I've had a lot :) The flavours were perfect and different to any I've had before also perfectly cooked. Also the were Friendly and patient considering we were a huge Christmas party. Having just had a girls weekend stay in Wimborne we booked 'The Wimborne pig' for Saturday lunch. The was fantastic and the food outstanding! Gerry was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I think our waitress was called Sam and she was brilliant too! Great wine selection and clean plates all round! The was as was the Cheese soufflé. We even had a chat with the chef about a divine rocket and Parmesan sauce served with the chicken. We all said we would 100% go back when in the area. Thank you Gerry, we loved it! Food was good. was odd. We felt like an inconvenience as soon as we arrived even though we booked months ago. Constantly told that they had a huge party upstairs and that they were running behind. We were put on a too small table. Then not moved when a larger became available. Made to feel uncomfortable for not ordering starters as the mains may take a while as we went ‘straight into mains’. Sullen unfriendly waitresses who refused to smile and were very unwelcoming. The owners sauntering around from to table. Overall it gave the atmosphere of ‘you are lucky to be here’ rather than welcome and we are happy to have you. Maybe you’d rather the went to your friends? My advice to anyone considering it - go to the Pig instead, where the food and prices match what’s on offer here but with incredible to boot. This isn’t your aristocratic home - it’s a restaurant. Not very Merry feeling for our annual and special Christmas get together.
