Such a great to visit and around, the detail and architecture of the outside of the building is equally as good as the inside. Lots of to explore and being fully furnished really dose make looking around more enjoyable. Lovely flower and kitchen garden to around too. Café, toilets and kids play area's as always in a national trust place. Highly recommend. A wonderful National Trust on the edge of Bristol. A set in a large garden and parklands. Great facilities (information, shop, restaurant, toilets) at the entrance with another cafe and play area at the far end of the park. Broad pathways for people who want to keep their shoes clean with some muddier areas of woodland if you want to explore. The covers 150 years of history with thousands of artefacts from across the centuries. It’s a great place for the whole of the family. Our visit to Tyntesfield coincided with their Halloween event and the Uninvited Guest from the Unremembered Past art installation. We arrived around 10:30 and the car park was almost full. I don’t know if the is normal or because of the children’s event. Our first stop was the house, which had several closed and in others like the library, it was difficult to see some of the paintings because of the limited access. The art installation was in several of the open and the chapel. The “art” consisted of very large, black organic shapes that had an intrusive malevolence about them. They had the air of Dr Who or Star Trek villains. Many of the people walking around didn’t like them and they did intrude in the we saw. The and the kitchen were mercifully free of art and were a very enjoyable walk. The greenhouses were wonderful. Because of the art and the limited access to the interior, I’m very glad we went in as National Trust members and didn’t pay cash on the day. ✨🏰 TYNTESFIELD – THE NATIONAL TRUST’S BEST-KEPT GOTHIC SECRET! 🏰✨ Some places leave you thinking, why didn’t we come here sooner? You can take a lovely down to the walled garden and green house.The is a play area here for children and very small cafe to get dri ks and snacks.Up at the sister centre there is a much larger cafe serving lunches etc.In the court yard there's tea wagon and a ice cream van Tyntesfield, a striking Victorian Gothic Revival near Bristol, offers not only a glimpse into the grandeur of 19th-century life but also a captivating escape into nature. Beyond its turrets and ornate interiors, the estate boasts sweeping parkland and carefully designed that lend themselves perfectly to a two-hour walk. Visitors can meander through rose-scented terraces, wander the arboretum with its collection of exotic trees, and follow shaded paths that reveal ornamental lakes and hidden viewpoints over the rolling Somerset hills. The route takes in both formal landscaping and wilder woodland, blending history with horticultural beauty, and leaving walkers with a sense of both discovery and tranquillity. A historical site worth visiting. The rise garden is too. Give time to around. I wish visitors can see more of the inside of the books in libraries. The trust should have the pages scanned and available on screen. and lovely gardens. Worth the hype, though it has been given 'the NT Treatment' in that the are not 'exactly' as they were when the NT took it over which was sort of what I was expecting. But don't let that put you off. Plenty for the kids to do in the grounds. Little in the to interest kids. Honestly one of the most impressive National Trust sites that I've ever been to. The grounds are immaculately well kept and stunning to enjoy a around with family. There are some hills and slopes, but I think they would all be buggy/wheelchair friendly. But the main attraction, the house, to say our jaws dropped when we walked up to it would be an understatement. And the interior is even more overwhelming. Every corner has been thought through with aesthetics in mind. The craftsmanship that has gone into the renovations is beyond anything I've seen before. It's truly astonishing. I honestly can't put more positive words into this review. It needs to be seen to be believed. If you're in the area, you have to go. I'd definitely go back again. The best kitchen garden, they use companion planting and serve the veg in the cafe, delicious! The is splendid but the volunteers made all the difference! They were so caring, knowledge and the pianist played wonderfully! Beautifully decorated for Christmas but would advise going on a weekday if you can - we queued thirty minutes to get in the house. Trail for little ones appreciated (though not easy, for us at least 🤣🙈) and some other interactive activities great too. We love visiting Tyntesfield throughout the seasons. A great and grounds. We didn't go inside but explored much of the outdoors. You could easily spend a day here, as a or alone. Well worth a visit. An amazing Gothic set in surroundings with it's own chapel. I'm not sure what they were looking at, but it couldn't have been Tyntesfield!!?? From the amazing chaple to the smallest detail carved of a bird feeding her young. To the Grandiose stair case to the three-way barley twist in a four-poster bed, carved from single pieces of mahogany. This built for the profit from guano has a surprise around every corner. So Worth a Xmas Visit . Arrived on 1st December 2025, on a most Rainy ,Dark, Dismal Monday , But from Reception through to Buggy Ride to The , and Staff and Vouleenteers couldt been better. is Beautifully Dressed for Christmas , Fairy Tale Themes , absolutely 💯 ✨️, a Delight from Start to Finish . Could do with more info on the but are very helpful staff around. Toilets around site as well as cafes, play areas. Big car park. Wonderful fully furnished with original furniture and paintings and ornaments and lovely woodwork, very interesting place and and nice cafe too. Also has its own little church which is stunning. Well worth a visit would definitely go back. & lots of to view. Lovely grounds to sit in as we had a nice sunny day. The volunteering staff were fantastic & there were plenty around to answer any questions & they were very knowledgeable. There is a cafe serving drinks & food & the coffee was very nice & there were plenty of tables & seats. I always take my own food being intolerant to gluten & dairy so I cannot comment on the menu although there was a notice at the till saying "please let the staff know if you have any allergens". Highly recommended & we really enjoyed our visit. Lovely and gardens. We came early and there was a bit of a queue but went down fast later in the day around 11-12 the queue for the was significantly longer so would recommend to go earlier in the day. Also had a carousel for young children The Trust volunteers were so knowledgeable about the Gibbs history thank you for your insight.
