Been to few Ground shops, but felt this one did not live up to the brand name. was fine, but I felt one of the staff just couldn't be bothered with curt replies to my questions, came across as not interested in her job at all. Salted chicken wrap was extremely spicy. My wife's scone was good, but overall I don't think I visit this store again. Toasties and coffees very average. Shocking service at lunch today. 2 Totally disinterested young females . No eye contact. No smile of welcome. Asked politely if I could have a cloth to wipe the table clean ( I had placed used cups and plates on the counter from previous customer) omg you would have thought I'd asked her to clean my house. Slopped into back kitchen area, grabbed a cloth, followed me to my table, half heartedly wiped the crumbs and droplets and slouched away with a furious expression on her face. Upon leaving we looked back at the 2 girls behind the counter, both giggling away at something on their phones with an empty cafe and at least a dozen tables full of uncleared cups, plates etc from other customers. Never seen anything like it. Deserved to be sacked . Disgusting behaviour. Strange wee place. Found the atmosphere very odd. A lot of dirty tables which would be understandable if the place was busy. Staff are friendly. was ok - I’ve had better elsewhere but fine. I was in today 20th of August and was served by Caoimhe who couldn’t have been lovelier. I’ve actually never had a nicer and I can’t recommend this place or Caoimhe enough. Defineitly a new favourite place Nice shop, but the service is what makes it remarkable. Aimee, the young lady with tattoos, was very kind and welcoming. Perfect service and very welcoming space, very genuine. Came in this morning to get some work done, and have witnessed awful abuse towards the staff here in a matter of hours, which has been taken as well as possible. I received lovely service, good coffee, and found the cafe to be quite cozy despite maybe needing a bit of a touch up. Props to staff, in particular "the lady with tattoos" for putting up with the conditions. Clearly doing their best. This cafe has really improved over the last few months —better coffee, nicer atmosphere, lovely service from Caoimhe today, I will defo be back if it stays like this the new management is making a difference. Witnessed the most disgusting behaviour from a staff member towards an elderly man, to the point that I refused to spend money in this place and left. A young female member of staff (brown hair, tattoos on both arms) was serving an older gentleman, he was simply asking for a knife and sauce, she went in to the kitchen in a temper and slammed the knife down that abruptly that everyone in the que could tell she was annoyed over this simple request. When the man asked for sauce, she purposely ignored him and upon asking again, she replied very aggressively. Everyone in the line was shocked at the total disrespect to a customer. This is not how you treat people.
