Always a treat for breakfast. The ladies at the tills and serving are just delightful; friendly and professional. The food of course if fresh, local and made with love. A variety of options to suit everyone. A nice bakery and cafe in the centre of Castledawson. Have used for and coffee with pastries with both great. The bakery is lovely with well prepared high quality items. Well worth the visit with a detour off the main road only taking a few minutes. Disappointed haven't been there for years lost the family bakery feeling Preferred this place to Ursa Minor in Ballycastle. Nice cafe/restaurant area with plenty of seating. Very friendly and efficient staff. Prices reasonable and most importantly, food was excellent. Tried a variety of cakes, takeaway sandwiches and a jacket potato. No complaints and enjoyed it all. Would recommend. Nice home bakery. Lovely fry. Dry and not oily. Coffee & tray bakes, lovely. They have an excellent range of bakery food and their chocolate counter is just beautiful. Called in for brunch (lazy breakfast!) with my son the other day. Enjoyed it. He had pancakes. I had a cooked breakfast. Both yummy and cleared! Picked up a few wee buns as we left. Sure, why not? We'll be back. 😁 Just had lunch , food was perfect and well presented. Service was fast and i would highly recommend. Great establishment! Thanks We stopped in on Thursday for some lunch while travelling through from Derry to Belfast. Although we had to wait approximately 15 minutes to be seated as there wasn’t a free table to cater for us all, the member of kindly gave us menus to browse over while we waited. We didn’t mind waiting as the place was very busy and to us that’s a good sign. We then got seated and the buzz around the place was electric. Every member of was rushing around getting the job done. Under pressure I’d imagine but still ‘most’ had a smile on their face. We picked up that they seem to have a system in place that it’s first come, first served which is fair. So when it came our turn we ordered from a fantastic menu that catered for us all, even one gluten free option (separate gluten free menu available) and then yes we had a little wait on our food but boy was it worth the wait. Can I add that our drinks came down shortly before our meal which we loved as they were still piping hot to enjoy with our lunches. I had the honey chilli chicken and i can honestly say it was the nicest lunch I’ve had in a long long time. Dittys 5 stars. Highly recommended. A shout out to all the working on Thursday 22nd August, you where incredible on which I’m guessing was an extremely busy shift for you all going by the time we where there. Nothing was any issue to any of you. Lovely, polite and mannerly along side great quality food, what else does anyone want. We will be back 👏🏼 Ditty’s does on of the best frys in the country and their selection of buns and bread is second to none. However, the sit in experience leaves a lot to be desired. The last few time I was in was on my lunch break and the vacant seats had not been cleared so I had to sit at a dirty table with dirty dishes and trays on it. After the table had been cleared I wanted to order food as I had to be back at work within the hour so I approached the counter and asked if o could order. The worker told me that I couldn’t order at the till but that she would come down and take my order. She continued gossiping with a co-worker before eventually coming down after about 5 minutes and took my order. I ordered the large fry but wanted to substitute the tomato and beans to another egg. I was told that I can remove the unwanted items but would be charged for the extra egg (on top of the already overpriced fry). Bizzare. The food arrived almost 30 minutes later and by that stage my lunch hour was almost over so I had to inhale it and rush back to work. I’ve been going to Ditty’s for years but the last time will be my last as it wasn’t a pleasant experience. If you are retired and have nothing to do all day them Ditty’s might be the place for you. Everyone else probably best avoid. We call in for this morning. Being gluten free, the were more than accommodating and adjusted my meal to suit my dietary needs. Both my wife and son really enjoyed their breakfast. As Arnold said, I’ll be back lol.
