It has this historical charm with all the listed buildings, the little river & bridge, etc. It does look like a from the 15th, 16th or 17th century. The only problem is there are too many people in summer. Castle Combe is probably the Cotswold's most know village, so it attract a lot of visitors and can make it a bit overwhelming. Regardless this is an idyllic which will make you feel like stepping back in time surrounded by stone cottages, cobbled streets and a perfect backdrop river. Comes highly recommend from us! little like stepping into a postcard. Just a heads up though, parking is tough and it’s a bit of a walk from the car park to the main village. But once you're there, it's totally worth it. Grab a hot chocolate and some snacks from the tiny stall near to the small roundabout Castle Combe is undeniably one of the most villages in England, and the historical preservation is fantastic (it feels like a movie set for a reason!). We loved the Market Cross and the short walks available. BUT: Be aware that it is very small, and it can get incredibly crowded, especially on weekends and in the summer. To get those perfect photos without people, you really need to arrive before 9 am. Parking is also up a hill, which means a bit of a walk. Definitely worth visiting, just don't expect a full-day attraction. Spectacular views in the in the Cotswolds. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the area is well worth the time once you find parking. I'm sure without the rain it's spectacular. But was a bit touristy and lots of people blocking the roads, clicking photos and cars jammed. Which isn't a bad thing but if you just want a walk then this might something you would not want. Fabulous little with scenery, quaint old cottages and lots of tourists. Definitely worth a visit, the pubs are friendly serving a variety of food, not just English stodgy meat and two veg. Visit St Andrews Church if you have time it has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere 😀 It’s a pleasant place to relax if you’re staying at one of the hotels. However, without a hotel reservation, there isn’t much reason to visit. Aside from admiring the architecture and taking a few photos—which takes no more than 20 minutes—there are very few activities to enjoy. There’s no seating area, no grocery stores, and only a limited number of restaurants to choose from. Transportation is another drawback. Bringing your own car is highly recommended, as getting a taxi was difficult and the area suffers from poor connectivity.
