Portishead Marina

Bristol, United Kingdom Marina

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Great place to visit. Usually, it's easy to find a parking space somewhere. Keep an eye on the tides; it's better when the tide is in; otherwise, there are loads of mud. Lots of lovely yachts to make you envious of what the rich have and what you do not. An old industrial site but redeveloped in the 1990s as the current marina. It's now a lovely place for a stroll and there are plenty of places to eat or stop for a coffee etc. The area is also known for its numerous art installations. Very well organized and clean marina. All the services you might want (except a chandlery, which is odd to me). We are passing through from Bristol to Sharpness by way of Portishead in a 60 ft narrowboat with a pilot. The marina has been great about making sure we schedule lockouts, and has coordinated with our pilots. Very nice folks. Restaurants, grocery store, lots of things to see. Self-service laundry payable by card. Very impressed with the place. Modern marina, great place for an afternoon walk to see the boats and go to the cafe. On a sunny day it feels as though you are abroad. Clean, tidy and well maintained. I've chosen my boat 🛥️😁. I imagine it is busy on warmer days but there was a good breeze and sunny spells when I visited. It's a nice walk. Oh, I've chosen my flat as well - just too many zeros in the price 🤣. Pretty waterside place with walks, food outlets & convenience store. Lots to see in Marina and the locks when operating. Just beyond on left hand side is good view of Severn Esturary, Severn bridges and RNLI Centre with shop. Pretty trees and 'fisherman's village' style houses. A nice lock to stroll around, some great bars, restaurants and shops dotted about. Well maintained and clean. Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday evening in August. Absolutely loved the design of this place. I think it’s been well designed in as much as it resembles a coastal village with its mix of textures and colours. Lovely bakery/coffee shop, also a handful of restaurants. There isn’t much else but it looks really lovely and I would be happy if I lived here.
