So glad to see it is open again, and even more glad after trying their freshly cooked tasty menu and meeting their welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful new owners. Great gluten free and veggie options, and for fussy eaters like me, willing to amend and change to suit. If you are in the area, do not miss it, and if weather allows, enjoy their beautiful outdoor sitting area. Lovely food lovely people desserts looked amazing. But we were so full I could not fit one in would defo recommend 100 per cent bith the manager and chef were so friendly 1st time here ,we only had a nice refreshing cold drink. Lovely location. Bar staff pleasant. We sat in the garden, nice to look at the flowers in front of the pub. Had a really lovely time at The Carpenters last night, attending an evening of Mediumship. (Definitely want to know when you are putting on the next one please Nelson!) Nelson & Neil are just the nicest landlords I've ever met. From the minute you walk in they make you feel right at home and like you've known each other for years. And not just me, they were the same to everyone. No matter how busy they were. Beautiful little nook, gorgeously done up, so clean, tidy & fresh. I can't speak for the food as I haven't had any yet, but it won't be long before I can as I already know this is a place I'll definitely be returning to! Had my first roast meal here and absolutely fell in love with the place and food. The service is friendly and quick. I ordered the Vegan Wellington and it was fantastic. The gravy was delicious and the veggies were fresh. It was great to see some vegan options for dessert! The pub itself had a really cozy vibe and I really enjoyed my meal here :) Went on Saturday the 30/04/22, despite being very very busy they got us a table with no reservation (although I'd advise booking to avoid disappointment). The food was beautiful, I had garlic mushrooms for starters, steak & ale pie for mains and apple pie for dessert, the food was beautiful & our server couldn't have been more polite despite being under a lot of pressure. I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. Place has really gone downhill. Extremely late service (took an hour and a half for food) and the food wasn’t better than Wetherspoons. Such a shame, was such a nice place before, the location is still amazing, so just stop for a drink only. Turned up on a Monday at 9pm on my bicycle. Closes at 10pm. Couldn't have been given a warmer welcome. Beautiful old authentic Welsh pub. Had a couple of pints. Luckily I had cash as cards aren't accepted. Will have to find an ATM as looking forward to visiting again. Wonderful place.
