Not great service either, and I was sitting outside and eventually had to go in to pay the bill as the waitress never came out for me to pay before I had to go. Good food, excellent selection from the region, unique restaurant layout with tables amongst pallets of from the local Chateaux. Friendly staff, great bustling atmosphere particularly at lunch time. Delicious and fresh food with a selection of 100 local wines to choose from right from the crate. Take a bottle to go if you're short on time or enjoy it with a bite at the restaurant. A must to visit if you are in the area. This is no longer a restaurant (some photos from several years ago are misleading) and has a bizarre set up! It's got a Bar section, a Tobac/shop section and a small Supermarket section. They don't serve food but there is outside seating beside quite a busy road where you can eat food purchased from the supermarket. I may have misunderstood but the Bar staff said it would cost €10 extra to consume a bottle of on the premises! So we went to the supermarket and bought a bottle of wine, cups and a panini (they also serve croque monsieur and cold sandwiches) and consumed them in an eating area set up beside the supermarket entrance/exit. What a disappointing experience considering the facilitirs! Disappointed. Have eaten here many times. Last occasion portion size for menu of the day butternut risotto was tiny! No desserts possible either for my vegan friend despite having emailed in advance. Came home and needed to eat something! Best stay we could imagine during our wedding preparation and night! Amazing welcome by owners. Looking forward to the 2019 wine! Food was ok, selection was ok, staff attention was variable. There are better places to eat in Bordeaux but for a dinner with children this was more than fine.
