Nine Bistrot stands out as a gem of culinary artistry, where Chef Antonio’s warmth and approachability shine through his exquisite creations. The menu is a testament to the chef's talent, with each dish thoughtfully composed to delight the senses. The tender, grilled squid is paired with a vibrant array of cherry tomatoes and olives, achieving a delightful balance between the sea’s depth and the earth’s bounty. The squid ink is a daring indulgence in marine flavors, accented by fresh herbs for a touch of brightness. Meanwhile, the polenta with its striking color and smooth texture is transformed into a comforting masterpiece by the crispy bacon on top. Enhancing the overall experience is the professional service, with a commendable expertise that led us to a sumptuous local Nero d'Avola, which harmonized beautifully with the meal. Each visit to Nine Bistrot is not just a meal, but a culinary event that engages and satisfies. A five-star dining experience in Caltagirone 😍 This restaurant combines friendly, welcoming, attentive staff with humour. We ordered octopus and salad with olives to start with. Both were so fresh and tasty. I am gluten-free and pregnant. They provided me with options and really gluten-free bread. My partner had swordfish, tomatoe, and aubergine (handmade), and I had gluten-free spagetti with squid and ink. On the side, they bring this tasty salty ricotta cheese. My partner had great local and beers. And for desert, we had homemade vegan amond gelato. Service was fast, staff were always smiling, the chef visited every table and also made us laugh a lot, very friendly and super stylish atmosphere. The plates are ceramic local from Caltagirone, and the interior is really tastefully designed. We very, very happy 😍 One of only a handful of restaurants opened and was recommended by our B&B. We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The was one of the best we have had on our holiday and prices are reasonable. The was cosy and the service was excellent. Caltagirone is a little gem, and this restaurant is a gem inside a gem. Calm and gentle atmosphere where dining is an experience by itself. Warm lights that transform the ancient stones in a tender nest. Food is incredibly good. Try the local seasonal vegetables (their finocchietto selvatico is incredible), try also the tartare and the julienne of cuttlefish. There is a selection of wine. Whatever you choose, you cannot be wrong. Last but not least a special mention to the staff. We will come back. (Sicily, March 2025, dinner). What a gem!!! This restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B host. It is in the old center, in the side street to the right from the famous 142-steps staircase. It is open for dinner only, reservations are recommended for the weekend nights. Google maps states 18:30 as their opening hour. In fact, they open at 19:30. Extensive menu but we couldn’t even think of more after three weeks of traveling throughout Sicily. So we went for a lentil soup ( more like a stew) and a baked eggplant parmigiana to start with. Both were excellent, the best we have had in years. The portions were very large, especially the eggplant. We should have ordered just one to share as we were full after the appetizers. The veal for the main course was to die for, excellent cut of meat, perfectly cooked ( I ordered medium rare). There are choices for the side, I went with the house special potatoes that were thickly cut French fries type , crispy outside and soft inside. So tasty!!! My partner tried baked fish ( in tomato sauce and olives), it was also very good. And of course, the Sicilian red wine! It was the best meal both of us had in a very long time! The only problem is that there was absolutely no room left to try the deserts! We liked the dinner so much that we made a reservation for the following evening right there. « Pulled pork slow cooked with crunchy potatoes » which is a grilled pork with potatoes chips And « Medium cooked veal” which is well done veal with too much olives and tomatoes The was very A wonderful little gem and an absolute find! Very professional and friendly staff who went the extra mile to please. Outstanding food in a wonderful atmospher-plus we received some tasty chef treats from the enthusiastic and talented chef. Excellent value and 100% authentically italian. I highly recommend this wonderful bistro. 10/10...we will be back! I would stay away if you are not italien and arriving after 8 o’clock They will say they are full but with a empty room We noticed the exquisite decoration and architecture while walking by, and made a reservation on the spot. What a find. Spicy muscles, and swordfish, and pistachio and shrimp. Inventive and flavorful dishes served with soft jazz and modern takes on local ceramics. It was so that we returned the second night. Highly recommended. Delicious food and extraordinary hospitality in a unique place: the first palazzo rebuild after the 17th century earthquake that devastated the city. I was generously pampered with extra wine, extra appetizers, and grappa at the end with the owners. Previous reviews mention the winter menu yet the summer meals are even more exquisite.
