A nice and simple room, with a marvelous view on the valley, with breathtaking sunsets. The food is traditional Slovakian, real tasty. Most of the staff doesn't speak English, so it's to know a few words Slovak, or else you'll be doing everything with gestures. Prices are a bit higher than usual, because it's up on a mountain, so nothing wrong with that. Don't forget to bring enough cash. And keep in mind that it's a 3 hour walk from Strečno station, some parts are quite steep. But it's definitely worth it! Beautiful location, kind staff and 5 cute cats. Beer for price (Holba for 1.5€/0.5l), bryndzove halusky for 6€. Sleeping in your own tent for 1€ per person, just sleeping bag is for free. Worth a visit cottage, catering services (compared to other mountain cottages). Accommodation is enough, electricity provided by diesel generator. Electric plugs not in the rooms, but nice view from the rooms. Sometimes lack of water in WC, a dry WC has to be used then 100m from the building. Cosy warm and friendly staff.
