The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi

Allendale, United Kingdom Museum

One of the Best Places To Visits in Allendale Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Lovely museum, and Neil (the owner) is a friendly guy. Many different from a variety of sci-fi, with a bent on Doctor Who. Better visited than to be reviewed 👍 (also Allendale is a quaint little town with a few stores, public lav & plenty of (free) parking so it's easy to visit, and you will be catered for). Our experience from the first email to saying gour goodbyes was great. What an awesome guy Neil is. I brought the lad I care for, after alot of planning and making sure this was the right place to with him and then a fair bit of travelling... What a great 1.5 hour we had chatting to Neil and hearing his stories, looking at his amazing displays. I had one very happy and content Star Wars and Doctor Who mad fan! Our experience from the first email to saying gour goodbyes was great. What an awesome guy Neil is. What a great 1.5 hour we had chatting to Neil and hearing his stories, looking at his amazing displays. I had one very happy and content Star Wars and Doctor Who mad fan! A hidden gem. A real tardis of a place. Loads of stuff from many different films and tv shows. The owner - Neil- is very knowledgeable especially on Doctor Who. Lovely cafes nearby too and lots of street parking. Neil Cole's of Classic Sci-Fi is a little treasure-trove of costumes, and memorabilia, from not only classic Doctor Who but also Star Wars, Blake's 7, Day of the Triffids and many more. Neil has created and curated this unique collection in way which successfully packs a huge amount into a comparitively small space (yes, almost TARDIS-like!) As you explore the narrow, almost maze-like corridors of this vaulted netherworld, the thoughtful lighting, plus accompanying audio, provides the perfect atmosphere in which to discover each item, most of which are production originals. Informative and detailed descriptions can be found next to each exhibit and, if that wasn't enough, Neil himself is usually on hand to answer questions and seems very happy to talk, not just about Doctor Who and Sci-Fi, but almost any other subject. If you're in the area at all, or even if you're not, a to this one-of-a-kind attraction is an absolute must for all Sci-Fi fans! Fantastic road trip yesterday with my son to Neil Cole's Adventures in Science Fiction: of Classic Sci-fi up in Allendale. Where else in the world can you see the actual surface of the Death Star, just round the corner from a Triffid, a Zygon and an alien from Independence Day? When you see the state of the from decades ago, the work that Neil has done to restore them and then put them on display, it is simply awesome. Looking forward to a return in the Summer! Splendid attraction for anyone with an interest in television and film Science Fiction, especially those with fond memories of the Blackpool Doctor Who exhibitions. Items from Flash Gordon, Babylon 5, Star Trek, Star Wars and Thunderbirds (movie) to name but a few! Absolutely brilliant. Rammed with from across multiple film and television science fiction universes. It might be small, but Neil's passion and knowledge makes the place feel massive! Neil's is a real hidden gem - the sheer amount of props, models and costumes (mostly screen-used or production) in such a small space is absolutely astounding. I've been twice and so much had changed between visits, as Neil continues to add items and rearrange the displays. You'll see rare items from the Star Wars and Alien films, the Marvel franchises and so much more – plus the main showcase of the museum, classic Doctor Who. This is a labour of love, from the curation to Neil's own impressive work in restoring and preserving so many unique items. If you're any kind of Doctor Who fan, this is a must-visit. Absolutely love what Neil has done with his museum. There is so much to see inside. Take your time and soak it all in. If you love classical sci-fi, not just Doctor Who, then the is a must. Great to see so many amazing and costumes, many of them decades old and have been loving preserved by Neil.
