The coffee was much milder than last time and just the way we like it. Interior is very light and feels airy While it used to be a favourite stop on the A69, each visit is now disappointing. While the is friendly, it seems that there are always multiple menu items unavailable, the Café inside and outside a disgrace. On top of that, paying for massively overpriced drinks and food (which is not the shop’s fault). I won’t rush to go back any more. We popped in today for some food, drinks and a toilet break after traveling for over 3 hours. We arrived just after 5pm and were told by strangers in the car park that the store was shut 2 hours early!! Whilst we were in the car park, another 3 cars pulled in. The inside the store didn't acknowledge us or make any effort to apologise for closing early. I appreciate the store is out of the way and may not always be busy enough to justify staying open, but surely this is a store location problem and not a potential customer problem!?!?!? Toilets were messy with toilet paper and water all over the floor and needed cleaning. When I informed the member, I was told, 'they were already cleaned today'. Sorry if I put you out, buddy, but washrooms need to be checked hourly and cleaned more than once a day. I love this Starbucks, in fact it’s my favourite one! Lovely views and not far from Newcastle to drive to, we usually stop off here on the way to Ambleside. I really don’t understand all the negative reviews on here, we’ve never had a bad experience yet! Are they visiting the same Starbucks as me? It’s always clean and the are always friendly, the tables are always clean and free from clutter so I don’t know where all the reviews saying the tables are full of rubbish are coming from! People are too quick to criticise. If they’re out of stock of something then that’s not the staff’s fault! What a lovely pit stop. Boys could not have been more helpful and coffee was lovely, even the dog enjoyed it. Thank you 😊 Very dirty looking, more interested in changing music then wiping tables down whch were sticky, covered in crumbs etc. Chairs covered in food too.
