A wonderful lunch - very enjoyable. The staff were brilliant and attentive. Lovely traditional pub. Would highly recommend the lamb dishes & vanilla ice cream. Draught beer and wine menu is also great. First 5* full house review for awhile and here is totally worthy. Visited after a lovely walk in Wayford Woods with the dogs. Warm welcome from the attentive staff, nice table in the dog friendly bar area. Great selection of beers, ales & spirits. Great background music making a lovely chilled atmosphere. Lovely selection on the menu all reasonable price, but worth paying a little more for good quality produce. We picked 3 out of about 7 from the small taster items. Freshly prepared very well presented we were not disappointed. Definitely will return when in the area again . Booked ahead for Sunday dinner and was advised they are currently serving a summery seasonal alternative to a traditional Sunday Roast. Absolutely delicious, never had anything quite like it! Between us we had stuffed belly pork in romesco sauce, garlic butter lobster (we could smell the garlic when we walked in!) and rotisserie chicken with tenderstem brocoli. The veg came in huge sharing dishes with beautifully cooked carrots and beetroot with a roasted onion crumb, buttered new potatoes and a delicious tomato salad. We were all absolutely made up with everything we ate. Served by several staff who were all very friendly. We enjoyed eating in the bar area but there is also an adjacent restaurant and plenty of space in the garden too. Reasonably priced we thought, £40 per head covered a drink, main, desert, coffee and tip. Dog friendly too, although he just slept under the table having just been dragged around the estate for 2 hrs. Also well worth a visit for the walks and shops. Outstanding. I’ve eaten just about everywhere between Lyme and bridport and the ilchester arms is the best by far. Classic pub dishes with a bit more class. Chips are a cut above. Good for foodies and good for simpler tastes too. They’ve hit the mark on appealing to everyone. Reasonably priced. Will be back soon! We had a lovely meal at the Ilchester Arms. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, sharing tips of places to go in the area. All the food is freshly sourced and changes daily. It was delicious! Would recommend Lovely pizzas, interior, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back! <3 we split the artichoke/ham and a pepperoni and both delicious A delightful find in this area. This pub has a small but extremely well thought out menu selection. Apparently the menu does change regularly but maintains a limited choice, as all the ingredients are fresh. Good selection of ales and lagers. Much better than some of the more well known pubs that were recommended to us (Five Bells, I’m looking at you!). Went for lunch - absolutely delicious food and great service. We shared 3 starters and a portion of proper hand cut chips. Great local produce and value for money. New owners definitely know what they’re doing!
