It was really a dream for my son and daughter in law and I cannot recommend it more highly. We were privileged to host our at the stunning Drumtochty last February and it was an absolute dream!! Tamsin and Nikki are absolute gems and so incredibly patient! We had some circumstances that made some arrangements a little more challenging for us, but it was no problem for them at all and we really appreciated the flexibility and how they went above and beyond to make the run-up to our weekend and the day itself hassle-free. Our suppliers were mostly from their recommended list but also found some other local suppliers that have been at the venue before. The sense of community they have and everyone knowing where to go and what to do was such a huge relief for us and took most of our stress away. The service throughout the entire weekend was seamless from start to finish. We had family and friends flying from all over the world and even some suppliers travelling from the other side of the country, all of them immediately felt at home thanks to the excellent service of the Drumtochty staff. The food was SUBLIME! From the afternoon tea for the bridal party, and the pizza food truck, to the canapes, the breakfast and the evening snacks. The house and grouds are immaculate, well appointmented and set out for ease and comfort. Lots of seating areas and facilities. The were outstanding the whole event ran flawlessly. From the initial process of booking a viewing to the day itself - everything at Drumtochty was seamless! Tamsin, Nikki and the rest of the team are quite literally the best of the best. They know the inside out which massively helps when you've never planned a before! They were hugely responsive to enquiries and nothing was ever a hassle or too inconvenient. Most people think their day is perfect and for us, it really was. All the details on the day and in the lead up were taken care of - from the private (and phenomenal!) food tasting to the delicious afternoon tea. And practical things in particular were a huge help, like the fact they already have beautiful tableware ready, a great PA system and there's even steamer(s!) on-site. Everything has been thought of. Our guests were (and still are!) extremely complimentary. They commented on how well looked after they felt throughout the weekend. On that note, having the for two nights with everyone staying on site really is a huge plus! We had the opportunity to meet our friends and family and celebrate with them the night before which meant that on the day itself, it really was just about the two of us. And the housekeeping team are next level. Not only are they super friendly (on the rare occasion you're blessed with seeing them to say thank you!) but they work miracles clearing up and turning the around for the day. As the bride and groom, we didn't feel stressed at all on our day because it all ran like clockwork. Thanks to everyone at Drumtochty, we were so well looked after (there's a million things we could rave about - from being brought mimosas in the morning to having our own canapes set aside!) Everything was smooth, nothing was rushed and it was absolutely worth every penny. Guaranteed you won't find a better venue in Aberdeenshire. The grounds are stunning, and we were lucky with a warm September day where the rain held off just long enough for a beautiful courtyard ceremony. Nikki & Tamsin were kind, calm, and incredibly accommodating, even reaching out directly to our florist to help manage last-minute table changes when our maid of honour and best man couldn’t attend. I guess I'll start by saying I was skeptical: I thought it was going to be an unending headache to try to arrange a long distance (we live in New York State), in a foreign country. But I was proved wrong in absolutely every respect. First of all, Nikki and Tamsin were unfailing kind and responsive in answering all questions promptly and helping my son and his now wife figure out every step, so that they could have precisely the that we wanted. They helped them at every important moment along the way so that everything came into place in advance of the wedding. Upon arrival at Drumtochty, I nearly fell over with awe, even though I had of course already seen photographs. You won't believe how stunning it is until you see it. From the moment guests appeared the day before the until the morning we departed, Nikki and Tamsin made sure that everything went off flawlessly, serving beautiful and elegant breakfasts both days, a lovely welcome tea, and a perfect meal. During the wedding, as we moved from ceremony to photographs to champagne to dinner reception, everything was always ready in every room. And what rooms! What struck me at Drumtochty is that it is a grand but it is also entirely comfortable and inviting. And if you are as lucky as we are and have good weather (we had bright sunshine on a mid-October day) the outdoor grounds are breathtaking as well, and very pleasant to stroll through. I could just go on and on. The short version is this: The location is beautiful, the people are kind and attentive, and both guests and wedded pair are treated to an unforgettable, magical, and genuinely supportive experience.
