It is a lively local pub with plenty of vegetarian options. We tried the fried calamari and the garlic mushrooms for our starters. They were both and very crispy. For the mains I got the chicken zinger burger with and my partner got the Mac and cheese with salad. The Mac and cheese was yummy and rich. The zinger burger was spicy as described the were thick and crispy. It has a lovely feel to it and there was live music as well later in the night. Will definitely recommend. The staff were and so was the service. Ps- Will definitely recommend reserving a table in the colder months to avoid disappointment. This was a just a day trip to Kilcreggan a village close to the holiday home I was staying in for a few days. Most important for me was it was dog friendly. I ordered a side plate of sausage for Alfie my dog and ordered myself the steak pie. I can honestly say this was a really steak pie, the pastry was light and perfectly golden but the steak inside was as tender and tasty as anyone could wish for- and so plentiful- I could not finish the portion - thank goodness for Alfie he made sure none went to waste. The meal was served up with a portion of and mushy peas and was so filling I didn't need dinner that evening. This is a family run business, dad is the chef and mum and daughters were bar and waitressing, and I felt very comfortable dining on my own (well with Alfie) in the welcome environment. I was driving so just a ginger beer for me but lunch, drink and side for Alfie came to £17- bargain. Also the passenger ferry to Gourock leaves from the village ( return trip £9.20). The beach at Kilcreggan is pebble and sand and Alfie enjoyed spending time there. Lots of interesting rocks, shells etc I found a dolphin bone. Lovely place, well worth a visit. It was tasty and very quality and made fresh. Service was quite and very pleasant. Has a lovely little wood fire which gives the place a nice feel. The only thing letting it down, just a little, was that it was a bit cold. It was a cold night and this little place would have 100% if it was a little warmer Fantastic pub.
