My friend and I travelled up to Portrush a few weeks ago to do some surfing but unfortunately, the waves were not on our side and were too small. It was a quiet day and no one else was booked in on the lesson, but Ricky still brought us on a stand up paddle lesson/tour up the strand and into the caves. It was a way to spend a few hours. I gave Ricky a shout the next morning to see how the waves were but unfortunately they were still too small for surfing. Hopefully we'll have better luck next time but will definitely be back to Alive Adventures again when looking to on the North Coast! My husband and I spent a couple of hours with Ricky taking a first time lesson 😊 The wetsuits kept us perfectly warm so would recommend even when the weather might seem cool. Ricky was patient and instructive (and fun!) and I was standing and “riding a wave” (albeit a small one 😉) by the end of the lesson. Would do it again in a second! Ricky and Carla helped set me up with an ebike for the day, gave me suggestions on where to ride, and some tools to hold on to should anything happen to the bike. The bike was fully charged, tires pumped, and brakes in full working order. I had a fantastic time exploring and only stopped because I drained the battery. Absolutely would do again! Very happy with our experience with Alive Adventures. We originally booked 2 hires and 3 paddleboard hires. The staff were very flexible and accommodating when we asked if we could amend our booking when the waves weren't good for surfing. Very friendly as well and good quality equipment. Would highly recommend and would be happy to be a return customer service, was provided two really top of the range bikes, lots of advice and route option, and they were very flexible and accommodating. Very friendly, professional staff. Would recommend and will use again. company with people in a location on the west strand, right next to the car park and hot showers. Ricky and Conner took good care of us with surfboards and wet suits, and gave us recommendations for affordable food after our session. Can’t go wrong with Alive Adventures in Portrush! I got a beginner lesson from Ricky years ago, so knew I would get top class service from him when hiring an ebike. Even though I am an experienced cyclist I was going over to Rathlin Island so wanted the range and flexibility an ebike would offer. I found it difficult to find someone who provided the service, but Ricky helped me out. He delivered the bike directly to Ballycastle Harbour for a small fee which I thought was fine. Cycling from Portrush would have been no fun. The bikes are strong, reliable and fun. to tick another adventure off the bucket list. We had a fantastic session today with Alive Adventures. Ricky and Finnan looked after us brilliantly and made sure we were all able to get up on the boards and properly surf! Everyone complimented on their care and attention and just how much fun it was!
