It is not an opera per se, but a well organized intimate musical show, in which famous arias and popular italian songs are interpreted in an informal yet professional way. Highly recommended for Taormina visitors who love classical music. VIP seats (front rows) provide for the best experience and are well worth it. Makes for a pleasant evening, with familiar music, nice ambient, a bit out of most touristy part of town, changing artists make it worth revisiting specially when no other venues are in season. Fantastic experience. Show I saw was a selection of songs/arias from some of Italy’s most famous operas. Paid for the vip ticket which I think was worth it and arrived early to relax in the courtyard with a glass of fizz and nibbles then a seat in one of the front rows. Beautiful experience, impeccable. We went on a Thursday with our children aged 7 and 10 and we all left happy! The staff was super friendly. The room is small but it doesn't need to be any bigger, and the acoustics are very good. And the singers were beautiful, it was simply exciting. Beautiful place in Taormina with fantastic programme. Listening to selection of arias from most prominent operas in history was wonderful. Two fantastic opera singers, male and female, and maestro on piano. So simple and so wonderful. If you are in Taormina during a week night I highly recommend you go.
