Literally blown away by the food here! We had no idea what to expect after reading some previous reviews. This wasn’t pub grub it was much better than that. Jake is clearly loving his job. His passion shows in the flavours on the plate. Initial drinks, 3 courses and wine was exceptional value. Absolutely loved it here and cannot recommend it enough! Full of old world charm and character. Friendly welcome, well written menu. Food was flavoursome and very well presented. Service lacked slightly it just needs a little tweaking, one dessert delivered 8 minutes before the others, jug of water offered to other guests but we had to ask for ours, starter cutlery cleared away then no new cutlery brought with main meals again had to ask. Hence only 4 stars. Shame as it could easily of been a 5 star review. If in the area worth a visit. This was a lovely restaurant with a great little play area for kids. Would definitely recommend booking as it's not massive. We went on a Sunday, so all had the roast dinner. The kids portions were good. Very nice meal, only complaint would be run out of apple sauce and no crackling with pork. Otherwise, very happy. Myself & my partner came to stay for a 2 night trip in Abermule. For our anniversary night we fancied going to a local and so happy we stumbled across the Abermule inn. The food was delicious we had 3 courses which were all really up there with taste and quality. My partner had the sirloin steak & I had the lamb goulash which we thoroughly enjoyed and my partner says his steak was cooked to perfection. The service was fantastic we were well looked after by the young girl who looked after us all evening. She was efficient & attentive! After our meal we went over to the bar side to finish off our drinks & play some darts. Overall lovely place, food & experience especially if you are looking for a traditional local to go to! Had the most amazing meal last weekend! We both had lamb and I’ve never had anything like it before - the lamb was cured, it was unbelievably tender and delicious!! The sauce was divine too! Everything on the plate was brilliant! The service was brilliant too, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable with regards to wines etc. The restaurant had a great atmosphere as well as the bar side which was welcoming and friendly. The food was fantastic and we would 100% recommend visiting!! Can’t wait to try the Sunday lunch next, which we have heard amazing things about. Nice clean toilets and facilities. Plenty of space in both the bar and restaurant side. The outdoor space is very good and makes going with kids much more enjoyable and easy. The park/grassy area is perfect. All round brilliant place to visit! Had a lovely evening sat out in the beer garden! The food was delicious, very well priced & the staff were lovely! Would highly recommend the steak board… but this is definitely a sharer! Haha We celebrated a family birthday at a local air b&b and Jake provided a personal menu and dining experience at the place we stayed. Everything was perfect - from communication, organisation to the food itself was excellent. Jake was also really personable and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for everything. We tried the new small plates menu . We had 6 between 2 of us and every one was delicious .I had a rhubarb crumble for desert and they made it extra special with a candle and a happy birthday on my plate . They always go that extra mile to please 🥰.Top Restaurant style food at a local pub . Staff and locals are very friendly .Can’t wait to return and try some more small plates.
