Was not sure what to expect for their £8.95 special 2 course lunch. Absolutely amazing value. Don't know how they do it for the price. My husband had the black pudding stack with peppercorn sauce for starter. He has had it before from an Italian restaurant but he said today's knocked spots off the Italian one which he paid more for as just a starter. I had the soup which too was very nice Mains my husband had steak and ale pie. Loads of good quality steak in pie. I had mince and leek pudding. Both mains were served with veg and lovely homemade chips. The were all very friendly and welcoming. Lovely cosy pub and I know we will definitely be visiting again. Great choice on menu both specials and normal menu. Highly recomend Food is superb, reasonably priced and always friendly. Visited this pub today I had the mixed grill as it was in specials board on Wednesday It was well worth the visit big grill good selection and also had home made chips with it worth every penny My wife had the chicken sizzler platter with half rice and chips she enjoyed hers also.
