Me and my wife were wondering what to eat on the unusually warm sunny August day and bumped into this authentic Chinese takeaway. As our hotel did not allowed outside food, we thought,why not just eat it sitting on the bench opposite outside the shop. Now We've had chinese takeaways before but somehow they did not make it Asian spicy level. Now we were completely blown away by the food, the spice level was what we wanted. It tasted as if we were sitting at a roadside stall in hongkong and having the fully authentic noodles. We were so blown away, that my wife couldn't stop and went ahead to appreciate the taste and quality of food. The ever so smiling gentleman, who was the owner acknowledged it gleefully. You should eat from here when in Windermere. I tried their Singapore noodles, fried rice, and Char Siu in Kung Pao sauce. All the dishes were decent, though there can be a 20-60 minute wait due to high demand. Additionally, they only offer takeaway, with no dine-in option. On the plus side, they do accept card payments. Hi, just from reviews and only visiting the area we choose the Magic Wok for a takeaway. We phoned in with our order which couldn't have been easier he gave us an approximate time for collection. We arrived and the service was great very chatty and helpful. We got the food home hoping it was going to be good after a day on the fells. Well it was fantastic everything was cooked to perfection. We had a feast. Everyone was well fed. My thanks to Magic Wok. Its the best solution for value, under budget, good tasting Cantonese food. During my stay only available was takeaways. Beware of rains and taking food back. The rice come separate, in all dishes the quantity and taste were satisfying. Would recommend their kungpao dish as a suggestion. We got food here two nights in a row, both times the food was great. The wait was a bit long because its a busy place, but the food was ready when they said it would be, so absolutely no complaints there. We also appreciated the separate vegetarian menu. Would definitely recommend! Never tried this place before and it did not disappoint!! As i walked in i was welcomed by the two friendliest faces i've ever seen, the food smelt amazing even from outside and we ate a whole bag of prawn crackers between two of us in the car ride home (i don’t even like prawn crackers)!
