We made an unexpected stop at Mondsee and we decided to do a tour, since there was a boat leaving in 15 minutes. Glad we did! The little cruise was so nice!!! Beautiful lake, the scenery is truly amazing. It’s like you’re in a living postcard 😍 The only thing is that all explanations are given in German, and there’s no English translation (so we didn’t understand anything, as our German is rather basic and we’re not able to follow if people talk too fast). Apart from that, everything was great. You can also buy drinks onboard, but I believe there’s no toilet inside (but you have restrooms just outside, near the embarcation spot and the café). Beautiful lake, lovely promenade, a pleasant place to stroll and enjoy the stunning scenery. Although the photos I took were taken in sunny weather, as I also went in the rain, I can say that, whatever the weather, it's an ideal place to enjoy the scenery... Beautiful with amazing view!!!! While we were visiting Salzburg, we were able to a take a quick bus ride to Mondsee. The beautiful lake, small village, various shops, and gorgeous Basilika St. Michael were all wonderful parts of our visit. Feels so quaint. Sound of music fans, the basilica here is where the wedding scene was filmed. Gorgeous church. The trees on the same street down by the are the ones used to film where the kids hung from the trees in their play clothes. This a great place to visit with mountains and the lakes... we can not wait to come back. Good place to visit, a lot of tourists nearby.
