Excellent lake. Boys love the here. Definitely recommend The friendly staff made up for not much going on. One fish visible in the water on my first morning but that was it, oh and one carp of considerable size proved that they're were some beauties in the water. Unfortunately a great deal of weed combined with very clear water made very difficult . Tried everything I could think of and still no take. A 3 1/2 hour drive to this very picturesque setting ended in a blank, hugely disappointed 😞 A beautiful place, very good energy around , the relaxation is exceptional , can't wait to go back. What an experience.. Caught my first cat fish. Had booked the whole with my friends. One also caught his first baby cat fish. Had an excellent few days and nights of fishing. Next trip for Aug is also booked. Excellent location and views. Be aware you are in the sticks so will struggle to get mobile signal. But had a blast with the and bbq. Tackle on site. Good clean WC as well. Could do with a shower facility and may be a cafe. Great on line transaction with Paul - appreciate you getting the goods out in time for my trip. We chose Milemead especially due to the Canal and Basin lake, and how this would allow us to show the children the basics of fishing. We arrived at 0900 and then we welcomed in the shop, paid for our ticket and found out way to the peg. The welcome was warm, and we couldn't wait to get going. A few minutes later and we loaded up the whip with some corn, first dip and we were in! Before this we had tried some sea with no luck, but now they were hooked.(Pun intended) Fast forward 6 hours later and we were still there, moving around and being able to be excited and celebrate them learning the ropes. Overall an incredible venue, welcoming staff and somewhere where we will be going back, maybe this week! Does anyone know what the biggest carp in the silvers and carp is because yesterday i caught a carp and it weighed 16.6lb ?? I was wondering if this could be the biggest in that lake. Beautiful place to fish for beginners to experts. Nice lakes well stocked and good facilities. Love coming here beautiful lakes well kept and paul is friendly and has lot's of advice if needed and well stocked Fished here 3 times in the last few weeks. It is my new favourite place to be! The fish are stunning and the facilities are great. Toilets, shower, tackle/bait all on site. Will be back again in 2 weeks and would definitely go more often if time allowed me to!
