The lift runs every 30 minutes. They have senior rates. Its is gorgeous going up and up and up! I won't spoil the surprise. Just wow. Whn you arrive step outside in the terrace. Take your photos. Notice the sign that says the company will not rescue you from this point on. Notice folk are exploring, hiking, and walking on the trails. No guard rails so walk close to the mountain. Their hot chocolate is the real deal when the temperature drops at the end of the day. They also have classic Austrian dishes with generous servings. I did wish I brought my sweater. It's breezy and a little chill even though the sun was shining. It gets cooler by 4pm. Bring water and snacks. Wear good gripping hiking shoes. Enjoy! A very clean and well maintained cable car station. There is a ticket booth and free bathrooms. If you have the Salzburg card you don’t need to get a ticket, you can scan right in to get on the next car. The up took about 8 minutes and gave some great over the city and surrounding towns. It offered one of the most breathtaking panoramic of Salzburg and the surrounding Alps. The ascent was smooth and scenic, making it a true highlight of my visit. However, a downside was that they only accept the ‘Salzburg Card’ for access, and there were no lockers available for storing luggage or hiking gear. Amazing at the top. It's an amazing cable in 1776 m up from sea level. I just love it. When you reach in the up and see the cloud grab you and the cold wind blow, it will blow your tiredness & give mental peace. Free entry with Salzburg card is a great offer for tourists. Absolutely worth it. Stunning views. Last up is at 5 pm and last down is at 5:30. Cutting it that close isn’t the best because the last down at 5:30 will be completely packed with everyone on the cable car so if you have claustrophobia, try to make it down before 5:30. It’s about a 5-8 minute to the top so make sure to account for that if you are taking the last up. 8min up. We used Salzburg card as works out cheaper if visiting other sites. Walk to the 2nd cross on mountain, takes about 30 min. Great views. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the mountain.
