Saltash Waterside

One of my favourite places in Cornwall, I often visit on my travels. Situated right beneath the towering Tamar and Royal Albert Bridges that span the river its a quiet area for a walk, sit or watch the boats go by, there are local pubs with restaurants, seating areas by the small sand harbour with amazing views. Saltash Station is only a 5 min walk away but beware its a steep walk back up! Isambard Kingdom Brunel s figure overlooks his handy work. Where nature's liquid engineering is spanned by Brunel's mechanical engineering feat with impressive views upstream and downstream. Where children are allowed to play or just a quiet place to sit and watch the world go by. Great place for an early morning walk There isn't much to do here as such, other than stand in awe at Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge towering above you, which is precisely why my Son and I went there! Apart from the bridge, there is The Union Pub (which you'd have to be blind to miss!), a small green area which has a life-size statue of Brunel, a few boats and a few houses. It's quiet in the respect that very little happens till the pub opens, but with the busy Tamar Road Bridge right alongside Brunel's masterpiece also overhead, the traffic noise spoils any peace the place once had. Stunning little place. Lovely views Pub and wine bar. Little park and beach front Can often see the swans and signets when they visit. Just under the Tamar bridge is the Saltash waterside with a few eateries & car park. If you're on foot, it's very steep! Nice for a look around good views Love Waterside. Great place to walk, play on the grassed areas or just relax and watch the boats go by.
