Just had a Sunday roast here, best I've had in ages. Tasty, good portions, and a fair price. Nice pudding afterwards, too. A proper pub. & helpful staff. Highly recommend. We had a lovely breakfast at the Anchor Inn with a group of friends. They were able to do my meal gluten free and tomato free. called in after looking for somewhere to eat. my friend has baked cod which she loved, my hubby had gammon also a winner and I had lasagne which waz very bland with to much oregano and tomato so it overpowered any other flavour. on rhe whole a decent experience. the were very and helpful. a bit pricy on rhe Guinness zero though. food and very lovely staff! Spacious outdoor space with a small corner for kids to play. Good service, nice food, nothing majorly wrong with atmosphere it was quiet and a bit of background music might have helped. An old-fashioned drinkers pub, a proper pub, a little bit tired in places, but a selection beers , staff, 6 of us all had a meal, it all arrived at the same time, and hot and it tasted .well done to the serving and cook. The were friendly, professional and helpful. The quality of the food was exceptional, not a standard meal as other pub chains with just peas, there was four well cooked veg and the pork chop was succulent. My wife struggled to eat her meal as the potions were large. Five cask ales, two being a local brewery which was of good quality. There appeared to be a lot of locals, who were and added to the atmosphere. This is a lovely pub for a weekend meal with family—one of the better spots in Thornbury. It can get a bit busy with locals, which speaks to its popularity. The are friendly, and the food is delicious. They offer value weekday lunch deals (Monday to Wednesday), with two courses for just £11. I had the gammon steak, which was tasty and came in a generous portion. The cod was also delicious and similarly well-sized. The pub has a beautiful garden area that’s perfect for outdoor seating. They have a playground for kids as well. Overall, it’s a place to enjoy quality food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely dreadful, very rude staff, actually came out when we were just sat in the beer garden to be horrible to my children. Don't seem to actually want children there despite having a play area. Spent money on food and drink here, but they were reluctant to sell us food, we were only having chips, even though they were not that busy. Maybe the are just not capable. Definitely won't return and I'm sure many won't, way to run a business. I'm sure we aren't the only people who won't come back. Wonderful afternoon tea at this lovely pub. The were incredibly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious - fresh and full of flavour. The selection of cakes was excellent and good sizes. A perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon. The pub itself has a really lovely garden with children’s play area and a good sized car park. Highly recommend booking an afternoon tea. Ate here recently and found the food to be excellent.Mainly a pub grub menu, we had gammon, pie and a lasagne, quality and quantity of the food was excellent and very good value for money. Great selection of drinks and at the time of my visit 4 real ales on tap that were from 4 different breweries, I tried all 4 and they were delicious. Friendly and owners, if I lived in the area I would visit more often. Lovely pub, perfect garden for the kids. Spent the afternoon here for an organised Easter egg hunt and they had a time. Free drinks for them aswell as so much chocolate! A local too have 😊 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
