What a great find and management. Bouncy castle and slide with balance beams and climbing frame. Lovely bear garden and good food. Value for money and definitely be back again👏 Arrive Tuesday night and we hadn’t realised how late we were. Kitchen was just closing but they checked and they kindly agreed to take our order. Friend staff, tasty food and a nice atmosphere. Thank you. We booked a table for dinner and also arranged to stay in the car park in our campervan so we could use the facilities until closing time. We were warmly welcomed, the food was delicious and the were really and helpful. We visited on a Monday night so the pub was relatively quiet. Close to plenty of beautiful walks including Tintern Abbey, and very dog too. Highly recommend for a meal or an overnight stop on the England/Wales boarder! A proper local with character and charm The Piercefield is everything a good pub should be – warm, welcoming, and full of life. The are always friendly, the drinks are well-kept, and the food’s served without fuss. We’ve had some cracking nights here over the years – whether it’s a quiet pint after work or a big catch-up with mates, it always delivers. There’s a real sense of community too, which you don’t get everywhere. A solid local that we’re lucky to have on our doorstep. ⭐ A Hidden Gem with Heart and Hospitality ⭐ From the moment I rang ahead, I was impressed—the young man I spoke to was incredibly polite and well-informed, setting the tone for a lovely visit. On arrival, we were greeted by a charming young lady at the bar who couldn’t have been more welcoming. She confirmed we were welcome to stay overnight in the car park free of charge, and even offered an electric hook-up (which we didn’t need, so I didn’t ask about the cost). The food was absolutely excellent—fresh, hearty, and full of flavour—and the drinks menu had something for everyone. To top it all off, there was an open mic session that evening, which was a real treat. Great atmosphere, great people, and a genuinely memorable night. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good food, good vibes, and a warm welcome. Review: 1/5 – Disappointing Experience at The Piercefield I booked The Piercefield for a family get-together and was particularly drawn to it being dog-friendly with space for children to play – both key factors for us. On arrival, we were initially shown to a lovely table in the restaurant. However, despite stating on the booking that we had a dog with us, this hadn’t been acknowledged. We were then moved to a back room, which was disappointing, especially as the original table was in a much nicer setting. The food, while fairly priced, was clearly frozen. Burger buns were hard, suggesting they’d been microwaved, and overall the quality wasn’t what we’d hoped for. One of our group asked for a burger without cheese due to dietary preferences, but this was ignored. When the meal was returned, we were informed that they’d run out of burgers – quite surprising given we were the first customers in on a Saturday. By the time his replacement meal arrived, the rest of us had already finished eating. No apology or gesture of goodwill was offered to acknowledge the error. One member of staff, who was mainly working behind the bar, was attentive and helpful – unfortunately we didn’t catch her name. The same cannot be said for the rest of the team, who spent their time sitting around a table shortly after opening – not the impression you want to give customers. As someone who works in the industry, I found both the food and service fell short of basic expectations. It’s a shame, as the website paints a very appealing picture that sadly didn’t reflect our experience. A disappointing visit overall. We went to Piercefield to watch a live band that we are having at our wedding. The pub is lovely! All the locals were welcoming and the dog atmosphere was really nice. Ive heard the food is also really nice so we will be back over and over to try the food and see more live music. Fun, and relaxed vibe. The and management are all so helpful and kind too. The management were on the door to thank us for our custom and are such a lovely pair. They made everyone feel welcome and invited. We are excited to go back for food and see the band again next month!! Loved it here! Was looking for a pub in the area and we came across this one. Good food and good value for money. Also really and helpful staff. Would definitely reccomend :) Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
