They offered a wide selection of drinks, and although they didn’t have Sprite, the lemonade we ordered was a surprisingly close match. The location is a real highlight - right in front of the beautiful Wye River, making it a perfect spot to relax. Loved the lively vibe and the music that added to the experience. A decent selection of ciders available. It does have ales but more of a standard range (Wye valley hpa and butty). It didn't seem to cater as well for darker ales. I once in a while and on the last the prices seem to have gone up to £5 a pint of Wye valley butty ale. I'm not a fan of the £5 price range around Herefordshire as it kind of makes you think regardless of the pub, it's probably a waste of money. Being honest, when in the area I'll think of this pub first but now with those prices I'll have to contemplate whether it's worth the and sadly most times I'll decide to pass it by. The sign outside says "Real Ale and Real Food", but it could more simply say "Real Pub" for that's what it is. A throwback to the traditional alehouse, and all the better for it. Cracking ales, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a small but excellent food offering (which also caters for veggies). One of the best pubs in the area and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it most highly. Pay then a as pubs such as this deserve supporting. Great roast with all the trimmings great portion size!
