Ok Bon accueil et bon service An evening stroll through Castlenaudary is not complete without sitting on a bar terrace enjoying a sundowner. this is just an ordinary bar but, directly opposite is probably the best pizza takeaway I've ever eaten in France and the bar owner is quite happy for you to buy a pizza there and enjoy it whilst sitting at your table having a drink on his premises. Its also a great place to visit when the weekly market is held opposite his bar where you can enjoy a glass of Pernod and contemplate your purchases. Castlenaudary is also the home of the French Foreign Legion training depot and every morning come rain or shine you can see the new recruits pounding along the canal bank on their early morning run. If you do your research well you may watch them parading through the town on special occasions, they also have an 'Porte ouverte' open day at the depot where they will also let you 'play' under strict guidance, with some of their 'toys'. Definitely not to be missed. Excellent coffee by a good barrister. Not the usual bitter stuff they serve here in bars. Nice People n nice place I haven’t ever had such a bad coffee in France. We ordered cappuccino and it looked like it was going ok until she pulled out the can of fake spray whipping cream. Yikes.
