City of Gold

Saint-Amand-Montrond, France Concert hall

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Museum dedicated to the worlds most precious mineral, goldmining in the region and wordlwide, history of gold and the goldsmith's craft. Nice instructed panels, higher levels are very hot in summer due to large glass-ceiling. Impressive!! Not the most exciting of museums to visit but if you are in the area then worth checking out. Composed mostly of static displays there are however a few interactive displays but unfortunately we were not able to see the melting of the gold bar or the workshops. The entrance price is a very reasonable €4. Ok 👌 Super. The Cité de l'Or is already a sight for visitors from afar. The unusual architecture of this building makes you curious to see more of it. On the lower floor of the Cité de l'Or is a beautiful exhibition on the history of the goldsmith's craft. This exhibition rightly gives the building its name ;-) Insights into the beauty and elegance of jewelry making and working with gold as a material. In the further floors of the building, cultural events from exhibitions to theater performances take place. An impressive overall concept which has succeeded there and is obviously used as an example. I am looking forward to my next visit to St. Amand-Montrond and the Cité de l'Or. Need to be refurbished, for something that should be symbolic, nothing special about it. Bh sv 'tx.
