The route consists of a small loop (1.4 km) and a large loop (3.4 km) that has an observation tower. The path allows you to explore flora and fauna in the untouched high moss bog. Of course you will find sphagum moss, cottongrass, heather, bog-rosemary and small conifers and birch, but also more rare species such as orchids and the insectivorous sundew. You will mainly hear birds, but with a bit of patience and luck you will see a Wood Sandpiper and European Golden Plover. An absolute must! Extraordinary, out of this world, leaves you speechless. Absolutely amazing place to visit when you are in Latvia. And it's only one hour away from Riga(by train). The path is pretty narrow, but it's a one-way path, so you don't need to avoid people going in another direction. There were not that many people there (maybe just luck). It almost looks like a really small version of the amazonian rainforest because of how small the trees are.
