Best place for rock concerts!!! 🤘🤘🤘 This concert hall is located outside of city center thus boasts large capacity with an indoor chill area, while within a few minutes ride from train and bus station. Large bar is served by two tenders so waiting queue is fast, but it has neither kitchen nor tables. Club has a VIP area with seats and is mostly venue for metal and alternative music shows. While a half thousand crowd is raving it may be hard to distinguish the lyrics and the place might need refurbishing, but it is worth a visit merely due to impressive history of world's top bands performing and leaving autographs. We attended a rather small concert in the middle of summer (~200 people inside) and you could feel that there's no air to breathe right when you step inside the main hall. What's worse is that it's been like this for years and owners (there's been a few) don't seem to care - If a band doesn't come with their own sound guy, your listening experience will most certainly be ruined - There are some safety concerns about the venue. A few years ago it was closed due to structural integrity risks, and it doesn't seem that those risks were mitigated Legendary and unique concert hall in Riga with its own atmosphere. Sound quality isn't that great but pretty tolerable for the such scale club imo. Although the club is not ideal and has some cons, it's still worth visiting, tons of outstanding prominent bands were performing here. Shitty sound, expensive beer, not always friendly security, terrible smoking room with no air cirkulation at all. But I like it anyway!! MP has a cozy sofas in addition to traditional stage and dancing area. Bar is rather good. Great foreign bands invited regulary, though we also have really good local bands. Sound technician sometimes goes crazy, but in overall sound is good This club has been around for decades and hasn’t been repaired in just as long. The venue can house around 200 people, yet it only has 3 toilets, 1 of which was broken and 1 had a stall with a broken lock. The smoking room is literally a room right next to the bar with very bad ventilation. The ventilation of the concert hall also is pretty bad, it gets very hot and airless during the concert. They don’t let you bring in water, but you can bring an empty bottle. If you leave, they won’t let you back in unless you buy another ticket (for door prices.) You can’t pay with card at the door. The event communication leaves much to be desired - the headliner had an opening act that was not announced in posters, the Facebook event, or even in person during the event itself. Even the opening band themselves didn’t announce themselves, they just played and left. Your venue don’t have to be in bad condition to be considered "alternative". Unfortunately whoever runs this place doesn’t think so.
