Amazing place full with tranquility and amazing surroundigs and nature. This monastery was founded in the late 14th century, during the rule of prince Lazar, and it was built around 1400. It is situated at the bottom of mountain Rudnik, by the river Srebrnica. The founder is unknown. The original wall paintings were created at the turn of the 14th and 15th century, and the oldest one is “The judgment day”. It was destroyed and rebuilt more than once during centuries, only to be completely restored in 20th century. Karadjordje stayed in it on many occasions, along with Joakim Vujic, Feliks Kanic and many others. A monastery of spectacular history, significance and beauty. In addition to the fairytale-like appearance of untouched nature, the phenomenal decoration of this nunnery, the sounds of crickets and the scents of all those animals that are bred to produce phenomenal medicines, cheeses, wines, oils, tinctures etc, contribute to the authentic look. Whoever is nearby should definitely visit, regardless of religious affiliation. It's worth it, rest assured. Lovely and peaceful place to visit. Monestery of Drača is a women monestery, located abou 10 km from Kragujevac. It's founded in 18th century. Duhovnost na svakom koraku u ovom manastiru! Definitely worth visiting Very peaceful place. No meter if U are not Orthodox Christian, must visit! ❤️ Highly spiritual place Not among most famous serbian monasteries, nevertheless is a pure delight for location, for balance and maintenance of buildings.
