We have come here for several years, several times. Today it was good again, allthough the filetto was a bit small when we compare it to other restaurants. Nice garden, good atmosphere, nice staff. Beautiful location among the vineyards and a large outdoor area. Indoor, the high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams give an authentic experience in the Tuscan countryside. Perfect for couples, family groups and friends. Food is good and reasonably priced - classic Tuscan dishes and with a twist. Great for a long lunch. A very nice Osteria. People are very nice. It looks a very genuine place to enjoy Italian dishes. The menu is reduced, which is a good sign. We had the Duck pasta, and the beef for 2 and the meat was incredible. We had a very pleasant evening and you will too ! Very unassuming place with great service and straight forward food. The porchetta style duck is a star and the rabbit is just lovely. Makes you think that the owner went out in the morning and harvested them. Pro tip: order a mixed salad and pour the duck gravy on it, you'll thank me later. The servers are gracious and very attentive. I was here 11 years ago and being back this time was just as great. Service is excellent this is a true Tuscan experience. Home made vino santo is the way to end the experience Do not go here. Complete and total lack of customer service. The staff is unfriendly and they do not care about their customers. Decent food, nothing worth writing home about. The pasta with sausage and truffles was the only outstanding dish. What made our experience especially poor was the extremely bright military lights than shone directly onto our table blinding us. Not sure why they have these on, seems like there is more than enough lighting on the patios outside to be sufficient. The bright lights ruined the atmosphere and our dinner. We left as soon as possible. Also due to excessive mosquitoes. We had to go inside to ask for the bill, no one came and then we had to go back inside to ask to pay. We mentioned the lights ruined our dinner and the woman/ manager became argumentative instead of apologizing. She asked where we were staying and if it was at Il Borro across the street. When my partner said yes she said “oh ok then I understand.” As if staying at a nice place reduces the authenticity of our complaint. If you want quality food at extremely reasonable prices try Osteria del Vino only 5 minutes away. That place seriously impressed us. It’s extremely causal but honestly the best food we had in Tuscany (steak, pizza and pasta). Very good and intimate dinner outside in the patio under the lights. Everything was delicious from the starters (crudo de gamberi, ciannina) to the mains. We had a huge bisteca a la fiorentina: very generous, perfectly cooked and so tasty… super value for money. Much recommended of you are around or staying at Il Borro. This small family run restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel staff and it didn’t disappoint! The food was fresh and so was the homemade pasta and bread, of course.
