Pretty old building. Inside, you could feel like a traveller a couple hundred years ago. Low ceilings with oak beams, stoned walls create unique athmosphere. Very busy on Friday evening, many locals come to socialise there. Fantastic food, friendly service and a warm cozy environment. What more do you need out of the pub, hang on I’ve got one, beer!!! We visited with our friends and their kids at the weekend, they had a beer called the Sun Chaser which I could have happily stayed and drank all day. The burger and lasagna were both fantastic. All in all we had a fab experience and it’s one of my new favourites in the area 👍 Also the Chips are here. If I can give more than 5 stars I would! Really good food (probably the best pie and mash I’ve ever had…ever!). Service was spot on - friendly, professional, helpful and savvy (always know what to say!). atmosphere - rustic charming 17th century low ceilings pub that’s spotlessly clean! Beef bourguignon pie & mash: Flaky and flavourful crust - was expecting heavy full pie crust and was ready to leave it and eat the filling only, but was surprised at how delish (and not too heavy it was!). So ate it all together with the delish filling, tasty fluffy mash, sweet fresh carrots, beans, kale & red cabbage. All delish when drizzled with gravy. 5/5 and more! Lamb burger & chips - Superb as well! Light fluffy brioche bun, with minty grilled welsh lamb patty (taste the char!), and skin on chips. Burger - 4.5/5; Chips - 4/5 Great selection on tap - if you can’t decide (or just want to sample more), there’s even a choice for a flight of any 3! Perfect! Very nice pub. Bonus found big field out back to walk in and let kids run about and old church yard to explore. Only downside for us was lacking proper kids menu and food being very good was smidge on pricey side £180 for 5 with 3 kids. Phenomenal food, a wonderful and beautiful surroundings and a fantastic host and service, loved every second. Highly recommend Lovely little pub with a fascinating history. Comfortably relaxed. The food is delicious and it’s a place to enjoy conversation. Brilliant pub, garden for socialising with some lovely live music. Tasty pub lunch to match the vibes on top of good service in a speedy manner! Lovely locals that are friendly and welcoming, pinned this pub as a go to comfy spot when in the area, making sure to come back for cosy winter warmers “What a gem of a country pub! From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and full of character, with a perfect blend of rustic charm and comfort. The food was absolutely delicious, hearty portions, locally sourced, and beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was spot on, and the service was both friendly and efficient. A wonderful spot to relax with a pint, enjoy food, and soak in the countryside feel. Can’t wait to come back!” Thank you Dave and Family ❤️🫶🏻 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
