This is a beautiful old 17th century pub. So cute in a peaceful setting. The owners are lovely & friendly. Great pub food at good prices. We have a motorhome and was allowed to stay over night. Locals are so which made our stay. A nice walk into the town of Brackley. Which is worth a visit. Lovely traditional village pub serving uncomplicated food, great selection of drinks, and wonderful welcoming atmosphere. Thank you Phil and Liz, we hope to return again soon. Could be an absolute belter of a pub stopover for motorhomes……if….if they served food (get the kitchen open guys), and if the just smartened up the toilets and general seating area outside. And perhaps £10 for EHU is a bit much, but at least they offer it. Well spot on. 😋. Thursday late lunch coming back from Oxford diverted through Brackley to see if we could get in. A very and warm welcome, an old cozy typical village pub. We stopped as a special day treat and was well rewarded. The staff was exceptionally and checked on the details of a few food and drink questions. We had the home made vegetable soup and creamy garlic mushrooms. Mind you it was just a hint of garlic. Perfect. For mains my partner had his sausage and mash he said was delicious. I had the steak pie with short crust pastry. A most delicious meal and a very pleasant experience. We tried to drop in on a Sunday several weeks ago, however you need to book. It was full. They do two sessions Sunday lunch and is a set roast dinner so you need to check. The prices was very reasonable as well. A lovely stop over with our camper. Very and obliging landlady. We wish her and her family the very best with the pub. We've let our camper friends know about it. EHU and water available, dog friendly. Kitchen not open at the moment but it doesn’t detract from what is a lovely pub, and fabulous staff, even the customers were very friendly. I stayed for a couple of nights in my camper,again,as it is in such a lovely peaceful location. I stayed overnight one Saturday in my campervan in the car park, booked in advance, and enjoyed lovely food, Hunters chicken with bacon, cheese sauce and veg. The service was excellent, and the landlord was very welcoming as I arrived and even came to ask if all was well just before I left. Gents toilet open 24hrs. A nice stopping point but do book in advance, as they can be very busy. A treasure. I'm so happy I found this place. Highly recommend. So and great atmosphere. Parked up my campervan for the night and enjoy food and drink then a peaceful night's sleep. Several other campers at same time as me. Well organised and Lovely Staff. I'll be back.
