After two years, I returned to Lithuania for a visit. On September 15, I went to the Stasys with my cousin. I was very excited to see it since I had seen a lot on social media about how amazing the is and how much there is to see. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was the merchandise section. I was surprised to see boxes of matches with pictures on the back. They didn’t look very nice and were overpriced. Overall, the merchandise looked boring, with nothing interesting enough to make me want to buy anything. I also felt that the merchandise didn’t match the museum’s vibe. When we entered the building, we had to put our bags in lockers. After that, we visited each floor to check out the art. I won't go into detail about each floor, but I’ll try to summarize my experience. I was left with a bad impression of the museum. They had a lot of space on each floor, but it felt like they were just trying to fill the empty spaces. As someone who is not an art enthusiast, I was hoping to find something intriguing or something that would spark my curiosity. However, it felt like you needed to do some research beforehand to really understand the art in this museum. The art itself was okay, but it’s not something that everyone can easily relate to or understand. It felt very specific, and some pieces just didn’t make sense to me. Some of the portraits even made me feel uncomfortable. The best part of the was the terrace — the view was lovely. I think it was the best part of the visit because it was great to see the city view and have a nice conversation. Afterward, we went downstairs to pick up our bags, then stopped by the building’s café to check the menu. We were shocked by how expensive everything was — they were asking 3.50 euros for a café latte, while the café next door charges only 2.20 euros for a large latte. The food was also very expensive. After that, we left the building. It’s also important to note that the is not free, and the ticket price is higher than other local galleries. Overall, I feel like I didn’t see much success in this museum. I’m not sure if it should even be called a museum, as it felt more like a gallery for just one artist. I don’t think this made me want to come back again. I believe other galleries and museums in Panevėžys have much more to offer than this one Great exposition, unfortunately part of it was closed.
