Never seen so many people complaining! We ordered via the app. No drinks appeared so we queued at the bar. They had lost our ticket. After hearing others complain about food times we asked how long we would have to wait as we had two young children with us told our food would be with us in about 10-15 mins (So just over half an hours wait). One hour later food turned up whilst I was at the bar waiting to ask for a refund. Food wasn’t bad when it arrived although the sizzling chicken was not sizzling, the rice tepid at best so sent it back, it then came out sizzling! Surf and turf had 4 pieces of scampi, not 6 as stated in menu. A steak knife wouldn’t have gone amiss, not easy trying to cut a decent steak with a normal knife! Didn’t get child’s build your own sundae even though we’d paid for it as child was falling asleep by then! An experience we won’t be repeating or a place we won’t be recommending to customers who stay at our campsite. We were only staying in Scalby for a week & we're genuinely gutted that we didn't try The Rosette sooner! Turned out to be the best pub dinner we've had all week! From the moment we walked in, you could feel the atmosphere (clearly alot of regulars) and the staff were super friendly. The menu had some options & don't think there would have been a duff choice amongst them. We settled on a flatbread, a burger, some wings and a couple of desserts to round things off. The food arrived in good time, hot and with a smile. Moreover, it was all so tasty. For the price, we were so impressed. The value for money here is off the scale. We would never get anything half this decent for this price back home (London). Seriously, don't let the cheap prices on the menu put you off - this place is an absolute gem. More than satisfied and we will definitely be returning! also little play area in the beer garden for the kiddies We held my father in laws wake here at The Rosette and we cannot praise them enough, they were so helpful on booking, explaining the buffet options etc, on the day they reserved a large section for us to the side of the pub so felt like we had our own section of the pub. When the buffet came out we were so impressed, was not your average buffet, there were sandwiches but everyone was so happy with the selection of hot food, chips, onion rings, garlic bread, butterfly prawns and quite a lot more. On the day, the staff working, India, Chris and another young girl were so and made what was a very difficult day so much easier, nothing was too much for them and considering they had an almost full pub as well as us to serve they definitely rose to the challenge.
