It's such a central spot to enjoy the natural landscape, right on a UNESCO heritage site gorge, and close to many small villages and vineyards. Elsa helped us feel comfortable, get settled in and enjoy everything the region has to offer — she even helped ensure certain smaller vineyards were open with a call ahead before we started our day's adventures. Additionally, the breakfast, pool, views and wine available for anyone to take (honor system payment) really made this something truly spectacular. Thanks, Metafort team! This was the most incredible experience - definitely not to miss if you’re visiting France. Elsa and Arnaud created such a welcoming atmosphere for us. We stayed one night in “les étoiles,” a room with a bed that rolls out onto the terrace to sleep under the stars. For dinner, we enjoyed the “plateau” created by our hosts, complete with local & organic cheeses, meats, preserves and vegetables. Paired with local organic rosé, and views for days, this was an experience of a lifetime. A SLICE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH! I still dream about our absolutely incredible at this hidden gem. The location is slightly off the beaten path and a rental car is recommended for accessing the hotel, and exploring the incredible region. Mountains - including the famous Mt.Ventoux, lavender fields, the land of ochre (Roussillon), chateaus, and beautiful vineyards are all within close proximity to this amazing place you get to call home. Metafort is situated in a gorge with the most magnificent views, we stayed in the under the stars suite and I could not have imagined anything more, it was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. Pictures do not do it justice, it is absolutely exceptional to be beside the one you love and see a shooting star. HOWEVER... The most INCREDIBLE feature of this property is the warm welcome you receive from Elsa, Arnaud, their children & of course our favourite pal RAMBO (house dog). They made us feel like family from the second we arrived and ensured to make every detail of our magical by catering to our every need. Constantly responding via whatsup, arranging transportation, recommending and reserving the best restaurants in the region, and providing us with all the suggestions to meet both of our travel styles. They forever remain in our hearts, and we think of them often as we are so grateful for just how special they made this trip. In addition the grounds are stunning, exceptionally clean, all food is made from delicious local ingredients, and there are even fresh herbs on site, anything we desired they would create for us.
