Short hilltop through woodland that soon opens out to open ground, revealing extensive over Buckinghamshire. Numerous landmarks can be seen on a clear day, including Chequers and the town of Aylesbury. There's a reasonable size parking and good signage marking out the footpaths. There's a small picnic at Coombe Hill though no other facilities are provided at this site, keeping it an of unspoilt countryside. The magnificent war memorial is one of the most impressive in the region, adding some historical interest to the site. I go to several locations wherw this comes up. I think it maybe National trust locations not on Estates associated with houses. They usually have car parks but are mostly free for walking with dogs and sometimes horseback riding... usually this comes up after i at COOMB HILL or the pathes around Hughenden both have woodlands with hills and are nice locations to see wildlife, butterfies and wildflowers. Some lovely countryside for hikes, walks and runs. Some of the footpaths are quite muddy and eroded in places, especially in winter and spring. Nice and quiet, ideal for strolling and overnighting with a motorhome. It's just a shame the path is so dusty. One step and you'll be covered in dust. Follow a very old map and start the walk. Looks like a mini 'forest', can hear birds' songs. Bluebell wild flowers are anywhere. It's a bit wet and cool. Trees can cover the sunshine. It was a short adventure time. Lovley huge car parking space for maybe 30 cars, hard stand and level, no height restrictions, over night stay possible, no fire or bbq. Search for Coombe Hill carpark. Ice cream van visiting. Lots of trails, good for hiking and dog walks. Within short distance is a monument to visit with Lovley view and absolutely stunning sunrise 🌅. Bonus picnic 😀 with few tables and bench. Beautiful place and really peaceful. If you living in a city, you will get a different experience. Highly recommended for family and couples. Please note: Don’t use the plastic items here because it’s nature friendly. Beautiful place to with stunning views. A really good place for easy and demanding walks with great over the Vale of Aylesbury. Parking is good. Pulpit carpark entrance, a 5.5hr trek. Connects to combe lodge /combe hill Absolutely wonderful place to visit. The from the Boar War Memorial, are amazing. There is also a small picnic and on our day of visiting, there was also an ice-cream van, which was an bonus. Parking is limited but there are cars coming and going, so worth a try. Lovely view from the top on a good day unfortunately it was wet on our visit. A beautiful around midnight through the woods out to the monument, easy to get to, and mostly all level paths from the carpark. Even though it was dark, the were amazing due to the clear night sky. Can highly recommend a visit, either day or night A lovely place to go for a walk. The national trust app provides several different walks, at varying distances and difficulties, to do around the that end passing the monument at Choome Hill. Lovely from the top, and Bluebells in the woods (visited at the end of April 2019). Amazing ! Lovely place to sit and gather your thoughts or for a picnic with the Mrs - mind the cows ! Great roads around to get lost on and have a blast in the car or on the bikes - lovely and great surrounding pubs 👊 A beautiful wood and hillside, perfect for walking and fresh air. Fantastic views. Love it Appropriately sized free car park, but it can sometimes be hard to find a space on a warm weekend. No toilets or other facilities. Lots of different ways to nearby, either within the woods or on the open hill. Good of HS2 work if you are interested in seeing that.
