It is just a short drive from Oslo and I promise you will love it. Especially if you choose a nice summer day to go. But watch out for the chickens. They are tame and might grab food out of your hands if you are not careful! Even if you are not interested in art just walking around in the garden and seeing the old buildings is in itself a wonderful experience. And grab som waffles from the Cafeteria! And maybe best of all it is free unless you want a guided tour which I highly recommend because you will get to see the inside of the buildings. Small but incredible beautiful museum in Asker, if you are in the area it's definitely worth a visit Incredibly child friendly place that looks straight out of a fairytale. Good options for playing, historical sight seeing, funny statues for kids to look at, an obstacle course for 3-6 year old, swings and a cafe as well. We had a great time for the autumn festival specifically, when they also sold local products and had entertainment (Latvian dances, kids orchestra). Heard they have a delicious soup but it was sadly not available last time we went. A very beautiful garden/museum!
