It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the too numerous dog turds scattered round a lovely pond, surrounded by mature pines and some larch, spruce and beech. And strangely, no-one is responsible for them - all the dog owners insist they clear up faeces and dispose of it in the bins provided. Must be mystery feral dogs with no owners that spoil the for everyone, including very young children that enjoy feeding the and geese. I went yesterday and the goslings are quite big now, but when the sun shines on the water it is a lovely place to sit and watch the waterfowl. Various benches and a couple of tables are provided. There are numerous paths going into the woods surrounding the - but as other reviews mention those can suffer from a fair bit of mud and fallen trees in places. You can get from the to the dilapidated Braidwood house if you use a map or GPS. Nothing much to see there as it's ruined, but there is a rather touching pet cemetery under a large chestnut tree near the house. The makes a nice visit any time of year - I added some more pictures - the last three, taken in autumn 2024. It's also a lovely short winter after snow - see the first 3 pictures. Allow 20 minutes to half an hour - longer if exploring the surrounding paths through the woodlands. NOTE: The little path around the was upgraded a bit in 2023 with more wood chips at the north side. Been left to over grow dont know if it been deliberate or just laziness or forgetfulness.
