The access from the A48 is not inspiring, pot holes, roadworks, and industrial estates, but in less than 2 miles you arrive at the fascinating Lydney Harbour. The place has a wealth of history, interesting walks, great views and various sculptures and remanants of the industrial past. There is also an info point, cafe and plenty of seating. Parking is free but can get very busy. Nice little circular to see some boats but otherwise disappointing. Run down visitor centre and toilets. Free parking. Beautiful scenery nice cafe check when tides are in Pleasant place to go on sunny day out. You will need to have an idea of where you are going as the routes are not that well signposted. The views on a good day across the Severn are well worth it and there are information boards as you along the way and an information hut and toilet when you arrive. Perfectly nice place, free parking, nice little independent cafe. Very peaceful and you can and sit looking at the severn Visited yesterday, a gorgeous little place, all very accessible and amazing views! The cafe was awesome with gorgeous gluten free cake (other cakes available and dog snacks too). I will definitely go back ☀️ lovely place to visit for a short easy with or withiut a dog. Views across the severn wonderful, and a wonderful small coffee stand / shop , seating only outside. Lovely place to visit. Plenty of parking closest the actual harbour. Lots of local history. Nice little cafe that offers plenty of refreshments, including veggie and vegan options. Lots of easy to manage local walks along the estuary, including easy access for less able people. One more difficult will take you to the hill top, with stunning views down and across the estuary-not for the faint-hearted....You can easily spend at least half a day here, a whole day if you are OK with extended walking. A lovely place with visit with the residents of Nodens Manor. We enjoyed an afternoon walk. Lovely to be able to look out at the views.
