While on a short mini-break, my husband and I visited The Wishing Well pub for an overnight stay in the car park. Room for one or two motorhomes, if your van is over seven meters. The pub was very quaint, with reasonably priced food. The young lady called Tash who served us, was lovely. She was very attentive and incredibly welcoming. Would highly. communication through the booking process. Ordering drinks and food via the app was a simple and efficient process. Being a dog pub was an added bonus. Really cute looking pub from the outside, first impressions on the inside were fairly decent. We pre booked a table and were meeting friends there. I ordered a mixed grill asked for the steak to be rare, it arrived, it was not rare! Not even close. I confirmed with the server if this was supposed to be rare she said yes, I said it wasn't but I will eat it. The food overall was fine, pretty much the quality of a low budget pub grub. The desserst were really nice. What we didn't like was towards the end of the evening how often the chef and his friend kept running to the restroom together, either they both have very tiny bladders or we perhaps dabbling in other things. I know it was the chef because when my friend bumped into him in the restroom he questioned if he was on the table that had the steak! Not very professional. The guy behind the bar was very friendly, and locals were approachable and friendly. The food & the chef let the place down, I won't be returning Really country style pub. Have been here many times in the past and enjoyed ourselves. Haven't been for a while so thought we would go here for a change of scenery. I was quite shocked how much the prices for food have increased - considering the portion sizes it arrived as. I didn't get pictures of all our food, my friend got the salt and chilli chicken kebab and fries - hers looked amazing and a relatively portion (cost £13.50). I had adults hunters chicken which came with chips, 2 onion rings, half a grilled tomato and a tiny bit of rocket, I thought was slightly overpriced at £12.29. We were most shocked at my daughter meal, she went for the 'bigger appetite' hunters chicken. As pictured it was just a hunters style breast of chicken, maybe 10 chips and 2 tiny spriggs of rocket on top - although it said on the menu a salad garnish. This cost £8.25! Which I thought was way overpriced for the portion, in comparison to other places in regards to 'bigger appetite' child meals.. this was definitely one of the smallest portions I've seen. Was quite disappointed it didn't even come with peas or some other extra that is healthy. We did order side dishes of halloumi sticks - which were honestly the best I've ever had. Onions rings - also wonderful and garlic bread which unfortunately was quite overcooked. The pub itself is lovely, lots of character, open fire for those colder months, seating outside at the front and back which is awesome. Plenty of parking as well. I would this place if you're wanting a cold drink in the sun but unfortunately due to us being quite disappointed with the food, we won't be back. We popped in yesterday Sunday. Approximately 1.15. Was only 5 people in the pub. Went to the bar where 2 young girls were. 1 was serving a customer the other was just stood there leaning against the bar. Not one of the girls acknowledged us !! We waited 5 minutes as they were chatting. We turned around and left. Very disappointed with the welcome. A shame as it used to be a very welcoming busy pub Fantastic very chilled quiet village pub. Very cosy atmosphere and some really grub very indeed!!! I had the Cheese burger it was a very big tasty bite cheese and the incredible burger sauce with some scorching hot fries 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿 Of course the Staff were very friendly, fast food delivery to our table and welcoming ✅😎 Looked for somewhere for lunch as the M4/M5 was jammed with a 45min delay. I'm glad we did. Stumbled across the Wishing Well. It wasn't busy so the service was quick. range of beers and an extensive menu reasonably priced. Great pit stop, large car park about 8 minutes from the M4. A old country pub. I stopped here after a long drive. I wanted to have some food and stay the night in my Campervan. It was a choice. I had a great meal, the staff are lovely, the garden is huge, very with bunnies in it. I was able to stay in the large car park and I had a peaceful night. I would highly recommend. Burger are amazing here, definitely one of the better burgers available around the bristol area. Would at least once for a family outing. We have gone here multiple times and there hasn't been a single complaint yet. Our table was completely sticky and dirty. It needed a scrub ! The serviette was stuck on it. The food was very poor quality . The roast was piled up on the plate so looked very unattractive. It cost £16 so was not cheap. We will not be going back. This is a shame because the actual pub is in a place. A party of 15 visited the pub tonight and had food, desserts and drinks. Food was great & desserts were great too. Definately the sticky toffee pudding and custard! Service was brilliant and considering we were a large table, all the food was brought out at the same time which can be rather tricky with a big order. Thank you to Lewis and the team. Always a bit cautious when the usual daily menu is also being served when Sunday roast menu is offered, but was pleasantly surprised. beef and roasties were good. Great service and atmosphere. Prawn cocktail was delicious. Attended on 18/10, no Fish left for Fish & Chips, no Rump Steak, no cream for one of the desserts, along with waiting close to and hour for our food in a pub which was close to empty. Portion of chips was forgotten so we had to ask. Plates not cleared away before the coffees and desserts come out, again I had to ask for this to happen when everything was staring the waitress in the face. This was for a Birthday meal and was ruined by bad stock planning and lack of attention by the staff. No thank you or gratitude when we left the building (party of 7). Really really poor experience I would not like to experience again. Needs major improvement, no wonder the pub only had 4 people left in it at 8.30pm on a Saturday evening. Amazing food! Great service from the lady at the bar very polite, kind and attentive to us. When the food was served she promptly checked in with us to see how the food was (Delicious by the way) I would definitely this pub to anyone who is looking for a countryside Pub with a quiet atmosphere and kind and staff Food was absolutely brilliant it’s just a terrible shame that marstons keep increasing the prices on food and Drinks But all in all a very pleasant and time I go to this pub every Monday for darts. I have always felt welcomed and the staff are amazing and always so accommodating always going the extra mile.food is well priced and even booked this place for my wedding reception party which the owner has been amazing and supportive with making sure we have a great night booked and planned chilled local. pint served from bar chap.
