Public Loo is also available close by if food is not required Very friendly place to visit. Outside in the gravel car park there is lots of space for cars. Inside there are male and female toilets. It's counter service with each table having its own number. Cash is their preferred payment, which allows them to keep costs down. My wife and I had a bacon and hot chocolate. They were scrumptious. We will definitely visit again. So many times I have driven passed here but I DID stop, on this occasion. I'm pleased I did as it's a lovely place. Thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and having the lovely peppermint slice and latte coffee. I own a campervan and there is ample space to park, just outside of the premises, where the old road has been bypassed. Truckers park in there so even big RVs shouldn't have a problem. Busy off on the A1. Real mix of customers, from lorry drivers, farmers, holiday makers, and locals. Very welcoming staff and efficiently managed cafe. food, but be aware the portions are very big! Nice toilets inside for cafe user! Toilets outside are for passing traders and are really not well maintained! Saw the cafe from the road side. We had the dogs with us so we always ask if the are allowed in. They had a fenced off with a side building especially for dogs which was great. Warm and comfortable area. We ordered food inside and the brought it out to us. Hot, freshly cooked and tasty. We will definitely call again on out travels up to Scotland A great place for either just a coffee and comfort break or a full meal, we stopped both on our way up to the Trossachs and back down to Northumberland. Full breakfasts are great, freshly cooked and filling value for money. Then a late lunch of jacket potato with cheese and bacon and the haddock fillets, again freshly made Fantastic little cafe. Opened in 1966 and still going strong today. Very pleasant setting, food was served quickly and was reasonably priced. Highly recommend. It was fine but not exactly what I ordered.The coffee was lovely & there's a nice outside seating area.Its great for people travelling with dogs as there's a designated for them. This is a nice place to by and have lunch with your family. And very reasonably priced. Never disappoints. Had a lovely roast dinner. Sat out in the dugoot with my dog and it was just great. So nice to find somewhere that is dog friendly and does gluten free food. Will definitely be back. We've called here a few times en route to holiday or on the way home. It's a delightful place, excellent food with quite a big variety of meals and superb breakfasts, friendly and helpful service. I very much recommend a if you're on the A1 near Dunbar. Sandwich buns that are more suited for burgers, a little stale and the ham is the cheap high water content type. Mac cheese microwaved but edible. Drinks in small mugs for the price. Overall location but we won't be using it anymore on our travels North to South. Dropped in on way past for a quick cuppa and delighted they had 2 gluten free cake options. Carrot cake delicious! £10 for 2 teas, hot filled roll cake and scone so very very reasonable.
