Very popular tourist destination on the Dorset coast near Bridport, with great views of the iconic golden cliffs featured in the TV series Broadchurch. An accessible beach, pier, bustling harbour, plenty of cafés, restaurants, amusements and lots of paid parking make West Bay ideal for a family day out. Personally I prefer the quieter, less developed parts of the coastline. There are some interesting buildings around the harbour, but to my eyes it's not half as pretty as many of the smaller, less well known villages in Dorset. If you enjoy like Golden Cap or Chesil Beach, the bustle of West Bay probably won't be for you, but as a traditional seaside town it's a good option, and a nice change to see a seaside town thriving when many are in decline. A nice place overall. Car parks expensive, although quite a few of them.. The beach is full of stones. A harbour Boat rides available from the harbour Cliff walks Plenty of drink places, and a few cafes Few shops Toilets And do check out the train carriages turned into an eating place !!! Beach dog friendly in certain places. Common place for bikers to stop. Lovely little sea side town, known from the series broadchurch Thought the parking a little high at £3 hour. It also got extremely busy. Plenty of people crabbing around the harbour. Boat hire. Chip shops the usual. All you could ask for, lovely beach with a long prom, a harbour, parking close by with toilets, a couple of pubs and cafés. Not all were open but it was quite early in the season (March) Very popular little coastal harbour. Lots of coming and going of trawlers. Usually a good few motorcycles arriving to have a look at, many seats placed around. A good few to eat and drink, brilliant kiosks, and lovely local pubs. The local bus service goes to some beautiful places, but is very infrequent, and can be extremely busy. Very steep coastal path walks, but what a view from the top. Gorgeous place to visit & lovely people West Bay of "Broadchurch" fame is a lovely seaside town. It has a beautiful and beach with dramatic cliffs. There's plenty of to eat, all good. There is a general store with very friendly staff and an interesting antiques emporium My favourite place was sitting near the harbour, early morning, with a very decent coffee from "Rachels" one of the food huts nearby. Another stunning place added to the bucket list. Very nice and relaxing place. Had a short hike on top of the cliff and you can see another perstpective of the place. Lots of lovely shops around.
