The classic English seaside town. Lots of parking by the and some disabled spaces literally next to the (on your right as you drive in). is sandy but with an expansive pebble as well. The sea is very clear in places, and you feel compelled to have a dip. Lots of places to eat and clean. Scavenging Seagulls abound here, though, so be warned..protect your chips! 😄. I really did enjoy it here and look forward to coming back 👍🌟👍🌟 There is a sandy and also a pebble beach. Also saw an area for dogs to enjoy the water. Found a pathway from a carpark down to the promenade 114 steps, there is a hand rail but some of the steps were quite a deep step down. Walked back to the car park via the avoiding the steps but it's quite a steep hill to climb and some of the pavements are quite narrow, you need to one behind the other. Areas of sandy beaches from the left of the sailing club, which proceeds into clean stoney beach. Good swimming areas marked out and observed by very good life guarding stations. Showers positioned along the edges of the promenade, beaches are cleaned and packed ready for the next day. Lyme Regis is a beautiful little seaside town. Highly recommend to visit. Great local shops, plenty of coffee and food options. Lyme Regis is a beautiful resort. It has a small sandy plus a larger shingle offering. Plenty of shops, galleries, and restaurants. The fish restaurants are superb but can tip be a bit pricey ie £40.00 for a main course. At peak times, I would advise you to arrive early as seafront parking is very limited. Do not be tempted to down from the outer car parks. The back is for those that are used to climbing steep hill. Beautiful to visit, lots of people looking for fossils and it was and quiet due to the time of year, well worth a Great one pebbles & one sand.. great lifeguards. The beaches are very clean toilets close to beach. easy to grab food and drinks fantastic little place will again The most stunning coastal village. Highly recommend parking at the top car park then you have a half mile to the bay area right along seafront. Be aware of steps though leading down to the way. Recommend grabbing an ice cream, Under The Sea with chocolates turtles was so refreshing in the hot sun. lined with lots of fabulous eateries. Only dog friendly on Lyme Regis between October and April. May to September dogs are banned. A shame but perfectly understandable. A calm and relaxed place. Small beach. Very clean with some sandy areas and some pebble. Small harbour. A half day out for us for somewhere different to go whilst driving over from Weymouth. Plenty of interesting shops to look in. Cafes, ice-cream, fudge and lots of different places to eat to suit all budgets. Definitely worth a stay or a for an English seaside gem. Beautiful with plenty of opportunities for food, drink and relaxing. Notable points of interest are Golden Cap in the distance to the left and the Mary Anning statue.
